Full description
Start your shopping tour at the El Ghorya market and watch a traditional Tannoura dance show. Then, stroll through Gamalia street and pass by El Azhar mosque and Bab Zuwayla, one of three remaining gates of the walls of Cairo. Your next stop is El Mosky, a big market combining all kinds of products such as home utensils and clothes.
Move to Khan el Khalili, the oldest and most prestigious market of Cairo. Built over the tombs of the Fatimid caliphs, the bazaar features oriel windows overlooking the streets, and many public water fountains made from copper. Find exotic items here in the heart of Cairo such as spices, perfumes, jewelry, and all sorts of souvenirs.
Stop for lunch at a kushari restaurant and try one of the most common Egyptian meals. It is made of rice, macaroni, and lentils, and topped with a spiced tomato and garlic sauce, and garnished with chickpeas, and crispy fried onions.
