Escape the hustle and bustle of Budapest for the day and visit the Mátra Hills, a wine-growing region known for its white wine, although you will also have the opportunity to sample some outstanding reds as well.  On the journey from Budapest, learn more about the history of Hungary's wine-growing traditions from your guide. Pay a visit to 2 different wineries and get the opportunity to meet local winemakers and learn more about their work. One of the winemakers you will meet was recently awarded the coveted title of 'Hungarian Winemaker of the Year'. Sample 4 different wines in each winery as well as a range of local snacks including meat, cheese, and olives. Get dropped off back at the meeting point in Budapest at the end of the tour.
