Full description
There is no better combination than good wine and cheese - this tasting brings the two together. This annotated tasting experience features five top-notch Hungarian wines, paired with a selection of Hungary’s best artisan cheese and charcuterie, which will introduce you to the increasingly wonderful world of Hungarian wine. The sommelier-led tasting features a carefully curated selection of five great Hungarian wines, which together will give you a broad overview of Hungarian wine, including the history, the major regions, the important varieties, unique characteristics and styles, and promising trends. The final wine in the lineup will be a glass of sweet Tokaj aszú wine, one of the world’s greatest sweet wines (and an essential part of Hungary’s wine story). The tour's focus on indigenous Hungarian grape varieties and unique local styles, means that you may taste wines which you have never even heard of before, and may not easily find elsewhere. The cheese and charcuterie are proudly sourced directly from producers. You will taste things such as mangalica pork sausages, free-range water buffalo salami, smoked duck breast, grey beef sausage, and various styles of cheese.

Overall it was an excellent experience, the best we have done in many cities. The host / owner is very knowledgable and professional but at the same time it was a very relaxed at ease experience. The wines were very nice (proper full glasses), especially the desert wine and the cheese and meat platter was done with a lot of thought and care and was very tasty. I no rush experience and we were actually there for 2 hours. You can also purchase the wines, oils and cheeses are available soon. Would highly recommend even if you are not necessarily a wine connoisseur. Many thanks to the host David and Alina Cyprus

What a great experience! Our sommelier was knowledgeable, friendly, and funny, and he explained so much about Hungarian wine and history. The five wines we tasted were outstanding and we loved the cheese and charcuterie selection too. Highly recommend!!
