Full description

Travel from Bucharest to Sinaia on this full-day van or car excursion that takes you through one of the most beautiful valleys in Romania. Visit Peles Castle and Rasnov Citadel and uncover the secrets of Dracula's castle.

Enjoy the convenience of being picked up from your accommodation in the city center of Bucharest. Relax on the drive through Prahova Valley to Peles Castle, which was once the summer residence of Romanian kings, and now home to one of the country’s most important museums.

Explore this 19th-century fortress which has 160 opulently decorated rooms. It is the final resting place for several Romanian monarchs, including King Carol I, who died here in 1914, as well as King Ferdinand and Queen Maria. Stop at a mountain pass to purchase lunch in a typical Romanian village overlooking a small river. Continue on to Rasnov Citadel, built to help defend the villages of Transylvania. Visit medieval Bran Castle, popularly known as Dracula’s Castle. Drive through the scenic countryside to Bran Castle, which was built in the mid-14th century on a rock standing 60 meters high. It features 4 towers with walls made of stone blocks, and its rooms and narrow corridors form a mysterious labyrinth of ghostly nooks and secret chambers.

Admire the artesian wells connected to an underground network in its its inner courtyard. Return to your accommodation in the city center Bucharest at the end of your tour.

The tour included everything that was promised in the description and our tour guide was amazing, giving lots of additonal information throughout the drive and the walking tour. We made the mistake to go on a weekend in August, avoid if you can! Spent most of the day in trafic (roughly 8 hours) and the sites were so busy that only our driver (who seemed to know the right people) was able to find a parking spot without too much trouble. All three locations that we visited were worth the trip. Many thanks to our guide, who really made sure that everyone’s needs were met (asking if anyone was vegetarian, what we wanted to eat/see). 5-star review from us, strong recommendation to go during a weekday.

We had a fabulous day. Our guide/driver (Vali) was great. Informative, knowledgeable and a great laugh. The weather was perfect and all 3 sites were so interesting. Our guide interpreted and helped us at ticketing booths, gave us ample time to look around and absorb these fascinating Romanian landmarks and we were able to partake in great “street” food as lunch was authentic Romanian food. We even got to sample a plum spirit and the best cappuccino right outside Bran Castle. (Very inexpensive too!) We really did have a wonderful day and want to thank the tour company as we prepare to leave this fascinating country. Highly recommended.

The tour was nice with the visit of Peles, Rasnov and Bran, even though the weather was extremely bad with much rain. But, the guide was a creepy guy that definitely doesn’t fit in the profession of a tour guide. Just an insane driver. This representative of a tour operator behaved and was dressed alternatively, with long hair in a tail and a huge goatee. He smoked too much. He thought of himself as being very humorous. He overtook other cars on the right and called with his cell hand held while driving, handling the clutch with his pinky. This guy had an attitude like: “good luck with it.” No interest for my 61-year-old companion. He didn’t want to get himself tired. Awful. Tour was nice.
