Full description
Explore Bucharest from a unique point of view. On this 3-hour tour of alternative Bucharest you won’t be hearing about the typical tourist attractions, but will learn about different social and cultural realities. Start the tour in front of the Izvor Metro Station and see the first signs showing the freedom of expression. Continue strolling to an hidden areas where graffiti and street art make their homes, and begin to understand the link between street art and activism. From libraries and bars to open movie areas or independent theatres, there are a lot of places that welcomed street artists and are now hosting murals and other art installations by young artists in town. End the tour at a local market, a relaxed area where you can choose to combine a good beer with a good meal while admiring one of the most special murals in Romania.

We really enjoyed this tour. Our guide was perfect! She was kind, funny, helpful and knew what she was talking about. It felt like walking with a well-informed new friend, rather than a guide. She showed us some really beautiful places that we would never have found on our own or would have understood whitout her. We saw beautiful and inspiring street art and graffiti. Note to everyone looking for a tour of the beaten track: book this tour!

Lovely, very interesting!

I've enjoyed so much this guided tour through the alternative side of Bucarest and all the street art and graffiti that are around this city, telling facts about what is going on and what people thinks about. The guide, Livia, was prepared and very friendly, she told us many stories and had always an answer for every question! Mulţumesc!

Incredible, insightful, beautiful, intellectual, spiritual experience.

I had walked around Bucharest for a few days attempting to absorb as much of the culture possible, an infinite source of stimulation, to come to the conclusion that I may need some context of the art embracing the city. I stumbled across an alternative walking tour that produced the profound meaning of the street art I had been enjoying for my time being in the city. The guide was extremely professional, friendly, informative, and demonstrated a mastery of the English language. The tour essentially reawakened my love for street art and has inspired me to spread it's influence to the Arts District galleries in my hometown when I return. I would highly recommend this tour to any visitor in Bucharest, and double to any who may have a negative perception of street art, as it helps in opening one's mind about contemporary urban life.
