Full description

Your tour will begin as you are taken by a professional guide from your hotel in Brasov. From here you will travel with a luxury Mercedes high-class van, which you will be your mode of transportation for all 3 of your sights included in the tour. You will begin with a tour of Pele's Castle, a summer residence belonging to the royal family of Romania which was built in the 19th century by Carol the First, the first king of Romania. It is the most beautiful castle in Romania, and one of the greatest in Europe. Next up you will visit Bran Castle, also known as "Dracula's Castle" and built in the 14th century. Whilst here you will learn how this castle was made famous by the Irish writer Bram Stoker. Legends, spirits, ghosts, and many mysteries will be encountered whilst visiting Dracula's Castle. Your final stop will be to the Rasnov Fortress, built in the 13th century on top of a rocky hill creating the perfect vantage point over the surrounding valley. This unique vantage point is the reason why it was only conquered once in 1611. You will be able to admire the beautiful mountain scenery of the Bucegi Mountains, Tara Barsei, and many others. In the evening, you will be returned back to your hotel with beautiful memories of the day.

We booked the Peles Castle, Bran Castle and Rasnov Fortress tour and had a great time. It was well worth having a guide. We didn’t want to have to worry about driving or waiting in long lines. The views at Peles Castle were amazing and I was so excited to visit Bran Castle finally! The guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and an excellent driver. He was so patient as we had many questions about the tour and Romania in general. The transportation was super nice and comfortable. I would definitely book another tour if/when I return.

Considerations: - The van wasn’t luxury as written, it was a old and little dirty one, with no wifi. The tour didn’t take 9 hours, it took only 6 hours. The guide just went inside the fortress and it was very quickly, but the guide was sympathetic. We didn’t had time to have a lunch, only when the tour finished. There was no line to buy the tickets, I heard that it happens only in high season so, resuming, it could worth to rent a car instead pay for the service.

Traian, the guide explained very well and organized admissions. He adapted the ritual of the tour to our needs. I thought it was very good that we were picked up and brought back to the hotel. The tour can also start earlier, the traffic conditions in Romania are very difficult. There can be a lot of traffic jams. It was a very nice day, worth every penny! It is recommended.
