Located about 32 kilometers southwest of the city center, the waterfall has the dubious reputation of being the largest wastewater falls in the world. Hear about programs to reduce pollution in the river and to help improve the quality of life for the inhabitants of Bogotá through electricity generation. Learn how the luxury El Salto hotel, founded in 1928 and forced to close, reopened as a museum following renovations by the Institute of Natural Sciences of the National University of Colombia. Make your way to the town of Fusagasugá to visit a coffee plantation. Diego was my guide and he was excellent! His English is very good and besides seeing the sites, he provided alot of cultural background which was great! The Falls are spectacular but ruined somewhat by the pollution of the river. The Coffee Hacidenda was OUTSTANDING! Besides touring the grounds I learned so much A-Z about not only the production of coffee, but the history of coffee which was very fascinating. We also got to see a smaller Columbian city which was a very nice contrast to Bogota.

Communication beforehand was straightforward and appropriate. We were picked up at our door punctually at the agreed time by a cheerful, enterprising driver and guide. During the whole day we had attentive and informative companions. We can only give them both great praise, because even on the return trip, which took a long time due to the traffic jam, they remained calm and friendly.
