Depart from your Bled hotel for an 8-hour kayaking adventure trip through an underground mine. Drive two hours to the abandoned mine and descend for 15 minutes into the depths of the earth on an original old mining train. The tour involves a short hike and a climb down and up some steep stairs that reach depths of 95 meters. Your adventure starts in Bled with a 2-hour drive to Mežica, a town lying on the Austrian border which is famous for its mine, Podzemlje Pece. You will begin by boarding a traditional mining train, taking you through a 3.5km-tunnel towards the Unionski Vpadnik slope mine. You will next descend another 95 meters, before receiving all the necessary equipment for your memorable kayaking experience. You can now enjoy the peace and silence whilst paddling your way down crystal-clear water in the underground flooded mine. Down there, you will witness submerged passages, stone monuments and mining sites dating back to the mid-16th century. After your kayaking ride through the mystery mines, you will experience the times of this working mine while walking through an abandoned working site back to the train station. You will then get to experience the miner's life, sitting down for a traditional miner's lunch. You will then have the opportunity to take a look back through mining history by visiting the mining museum after lunch.
