What people are saying about Black River

I am very grateful for Mr Jay for his driving ethics, tour guide knowledge, friendliness, hospitality, and gentleness with me and my partner throughout the trip. He was amazing with explaining not just the actual itinerary but random fun facts about the flora and fauna of Mauritius. I’ve appreciated the culture more because of his expertise. We had a private tour and with this package, we really didn’t have to queue anywhere. It was the VIP feeling. The lunch was great too and decent Mauritian speciality - curry. We had extra stuff outside the itinerary that Mr Jay kindly let us experience - the overlooking view of the West, and sugar cane experience. I have thoroughly enjoyed this trip and I highly recommend this company and Mr Jay!

The driver/guide was excellent - he drove well, and was really knowledgeable, had stories to tell and was humorous; showed us various interesting locations, brought us to a good local restaurant. all fine. The car was good, clean However in preparation, the company was unfortunately unresponsive. We had been promised 24-36h before the excursion an e-mail with detais on the pick-up; it did not come. Our inquiry if we would be provided with water during the tour, was not responded to. In short: driver and trip very good, company cared little for service (as we had to experience several times on Mauritius)

The tour starts on time and our guide Melissa was very informative, nice and friendly. The tour itself includes many nice places to see and very well organized. The lunch and Rum tasting was excellent. We really enjoy the outstanding nature. Don't forget to take some fruits if you want to present them in the Temple. Highly recommended !!

Ibrahim was a very nice driver, he talked us about Mauritius' history a lot. We have seen a lot of what there is to seen about Mauritius. Very nice tour! Well recommended!

the best experience someone can have in Mauritius. The guide explains us a lot of things about all the sights and he was so kind and smiling a time.
