1. From Frankfurt: Rhine Valley Day Trip

Discover the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Rhine Valley, with its vineyards and picturesque towns and villages. See the mighty medieval castles – the area has the highest density of such buildings in the world. Marvel at the stunningly beautiful "Lorelei-Felsen," or Siren's Rocks, and enjoy fantastic views over the valley from the Niederwald monument. In the summer you can ride on the Assmannshausen cable car down into the valley (optional), have lunch in a marvelous restaurant on the banks of the Rhine (included), and then take a wonderful Panorama boat trip to St. Goarshausen, past the famous Loreley. Try fine wines on location in a small tavern and or just lose yourself in the picturesque little town of Rüdesheim. Please note that the tour will only stop at Rüdesheim if time allows.  In winter time it may be possible that steamers do not operate in case of bad weather or water conditions. In this case, you will visit a castle instead. You'll travel back to Frankfurt by bus when the tour is finished and will be dropped off at the meeting point.

What people are saying about Bingen am Rhein

First of all, the sites we visited—the paneriai Forest, Trakai, and Kernave—were each incredibly interesting and sometimes moving, really must-sees on any visit to Vilnius. Then, I cannot say enough good things about our guide. He was very knowledgeable about all these sites and about the history and politics of Lithuania. We learned so much from him—and he was considerate, patient, and kind throughout our tour. When I told him our granddaughter loved princesses, he launched into a tale about how the island castle at Trakai was built by a duke for a young princess bride who missed her former home by the sea. I was delighted to have a story about a princess to share with my granddaughter and very impressed with our guide’s knowledge of history. All in all, it was a lovely day and one that I can recommend highly.

The bus trip was fantastic with views of Frankfurt’s cityscape and of the countryside leading to the boat tour of the Rhine River itself. The tour guide had an excellent personality and was very helpful in taking group photos. The views from the Rhine River were fantastic with the many gorgeous castles along the shore. The food at the restaurant, eaten before boarding boat, was amazing, and the wine tasting after the boat cruise was both informative and enjoyable. It made me want to live in Germany.

The landscape, the restaurant, everything was awesome and the tour guide was excellent. Super kind, joyful and always smiling. Vielen dank. Totally recommend doing the tour.
