Mauna Kea: Stargazing Experience with Free Photos

1. Mauna Kea: Stargazing Experience with Free Photos

Explore a secluded stargazing spot on the slopes of Mauna Kea. Stargazing on this summit has never been allowed for any individual or tour group; all other tours do their stargazing on the side of a busy road near the highway, but this tour allows you access to a remote spot located miles from any highway.  Head to the meeting point and grab a parka jacket. Hear about this unique spot from your guide, as they use a green laser to point out constellations, planets, space objects, and hopefully some fast-moving shooting stars. Your guide will also take some photos of the best objects in the night sky with an astro-modified camera/lens for you to check out later. Next comes everyone's favorite part; have some fun posing for astro-photos with the stars in the background. 2-3 photos taken during the experience will be sent to you after the trip. Look back on these photos, touched up with Lightroom photo-editing at no extra cost.

Big Island: 3-Hour Kohala Canopy Zipline Adventure

2. Big Island: 3-Hour Kohala Canopy Zipline Adventure

Start your adventure in Hawi, and get geared up and ready to jump into the Pinzgauer for your oceanfront trek up the zipline. The 8 lines, 6 sky bridges, and a rappel make this the only full canopy tour on Hawaii Island. This significant forest reserve is part of the Halawa Lands of King Kamehameha.  Certified canopy guides will inspire you with stories and legends of Kohala while you zip from tree to tree in a completely natural setting. Rely on unique interpretive elements, innovative course design, expert guides, and compliance with the highest level of safety standards to make this adventure extremely safe, accessible and engaging. Stop for a re-energizing snack and drink break. Watch your fellow zippers fly through the trees as you catch your breath and prepare for round two! Finally, repel back down to land! Jump back into the Pinzgauer along the coastline back to the meeting point.

Big Island: Full-Day Kohala Zipline and Waterfall Adventure

3. Big Island: Full-Day Kohala Zipline and Waterfall Adventure

Start your adventure in Hawi, and jump into the Pinzgauer (an Austrian military vehicle) for your oceanfront trek up the zipline. The 8 lines, 6 sky bridges, and a rappel make this the only full canopy tour on Hawaii Island. Next, head to a private picnic spot on a cliffside overlook of the Pololu Valley. After an energizing deli-style lunch, take an off-road trip up to your oceanfront trek to the waterfalls. Walk on the edge of a private nature reserve that once served as a sugarcane plantation. Experience dramatic views of Pololu Valley, charming foot bridges, historic taro terraces, and intimate waterfalls. Enjoy a refreshing dip under one of the private waterfalls to complete your tour.

Just do it. Don’t think twice. This is hands down one of the best tours I’ve ever done in Hawaii. James is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his work. He shares a ton of information with the group and ensures everyone is enjoying the trip. The pictures he took were incredible! It’s COLD out there. Wear pants, not leggings like me the tour does provide you with parkas to stay warm but you may consider layering up a bit more if you get cold easily.

I have never done zipline before. They made it very safe and fun. Tou are ziplineing through the jungle with a surprise at the end. We walked to 4 beautiful waterfalls. We swam in the last one. Be sure to bring shoes fro the waterfall swim as ot is filled with rocks. Amazing day

James is a NASA professional with a vast knowledge of astronomy. And the pictures he takes for you with his deep space camera— a camera that captures what you can’t see with your bare eyes - are amazing. I highly recommend this experience!

Nic was an amazing tour guide and took great pictures of us. The picnic spot was so amazing, probably the best views we saw of Hawaii

Dylan and Braxton were great! Was a thrilling experience with guides that made it feel safe and fun
