Full description
Depart from Barcelona and head to Besalu in a comfortable vehicle, crossing La Garrotxa Natural Park, a volcanic area. See the 12th-century Romanesque bridge and marvel at its arcaded streets and squares. See the restored mikveh, a ritual Jewish bath, and the remains of a medieval synagogue. Move on to the Benedictine monastery of Sant Pere, founded in 977 A.D. and consecrated in 1003. Make the most of some free time to explore on your own and take photos.
Continue on to Girona and walk through the Cathedral and the Gothic Quarter, before you arrive at a local restaurant for a three-course meal and the chance to sample the local wines and products of the area.
Head to Pals, a charming village from the Middle Ages. Take in the most beautiful landscape views from on top of the hill next to the Tower of the Hours. Enjoy amazing panoramic views before you head back to central Barcelona.
