From Bergen: Private Tour to Sognefjord, Gudvangen, & Flåm

1. From Bergen: Private Tour to Sognefjord, Gudvangen, & Flåm

Explore Norway's fjord country on this private tour. Your itinerary is flexible and personalized to your interests. After meeting your guide in the hotel lobby, set out in a private vehicle passing by the famous Dale of Norway sweater factory in the village of Dale and through the town of Voss.  Make a brief stop at the Tvindefossen waterfall for photos and fresh mountain air. Continue your trip to the Stalheim Hotel's terrace, which overlooks fantastic views over the Nærøydalen Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Back in your vehicle, descend the dramatic Stalheimskleiva Road to the valley's floor, where you will visit the ancient village of Gudvangen. From Gudvangen enjoy a scenic cruise to Flåm. On arrival at Flåm, enjoy lunch in a local restaurant (your own expense) and free time to browse the souvenir shops, visit the Flåmsbana railway museum, or check out the local microbrewery. Then head towards the scenic Stegastein viewing point, a 30-meter platform hanging over Aurlandsfjord. The narrow road and the viewing point will provide breathtaking photos and vivid memories. Board the Flåmsbana railway from Flåm to the mountain railway station Myrdal, located 2,844 feet (867 m). You'll make a brief stop at Kjøsfossen waterfall.  Change trains at Myrdal to head back to Voss where you'll have time to tour a medieval church dating from 1277 and an 11th-century stone cross. At the end of the tour, your guide will drive you back to your hotel in Bergen.

Private 2-Day Cruise to Sognefjorden Fjord

2. Private 2-Day Cruise to Sognefjorden Fjord

Explore Sognefjord — the "King of the Fjords" — on a private yacht cruise from Bergen. Admire the largest and deepest fjord in Norway, and enjoy the chance to spend the night aboard the boat. On the second day, have the opportunity to travel on the beautiful Flåm Railway. Begin the tour by making your own way to the yacht in Bergen. Then, start your 2-day, 1-night cruise to Sognefjord which also takes in Balestrand, Nærøyfjorden, and Flåm. Cruise out the fjords of Bergen and through the archipelago, passing small islands and fjords on the way. Enjoy a slow pace that gives you plenty of opportunities to take in the lovely surroundings. Stop for the night near the Kviknes Hotel in Balestrand. Either stay on the yacht overnight, enjoying the boat completely to yourselves, or arrange to stay at Kviknes Hotel separately with the hotel. Whether you stay at the hotel or not, you can grab some dinner there (not included), a mere 20-meter walk from the boat. On the second day, continue your cruise to Flåm and have lunch (not included) before you enter the Flåm Railway (not included), said to be the most beautiful train journey in the world. The Flåm Railway is connected with the train to Bergen, so you can make your way back to the city that way if you like. Alternatively, you can take the train back to Flåm and return to Bergen in a VIP car.

What people are saying about Bergen

This tour is a great way to see the diverse landscape of Norway in a complete package; Fjords, Mountains, coastal villages. Given that we took the tour in February meant no large crowds with plenty of space to roam around the boat for viewing and pictures. Just had some weather to contend with but was to be expected. Our guide Sonia was great. Very knowledgeable, personable and informative.

Frode was a really nice guide!! knows alot and gave us nice tips for every part of the journey!! amazing views!! relaxing day, most of the time sitting down inside the car, train or boat! buy a quick lunch and go to a viewpoint before going to the ferry, it was spectacular!

This tour is a must for someone who wants to spend 1 day in Bergen. The nature is so wild, the hills & mountains so steep, creating waterfalls everywhere, & the people so kind, helpful & cooperative..

The trip was absolutely wonderful. Guide Gimndes - Dziky was very friendly, informed and he showed us many new things. We spend 11 hours with him.
