Our van driver to Salt Mine was amazing!! He showed us spectacular views and told us lots about history as we travelled up into mountains for Salt Mine tour. Views were breathtaking! Actual Salt Mine tour was ok... underground boat ride is more like floating across a dark pond for 4 mins. Mine tour guide didnt speak English & was very disengaged so we had to use recorded devices that didnt always play correctly. Kids loved the two slides in mine and "train ride" in and out of mine. Overall, entire excursions was worthwhile but best part was views to/from.

It was a good tour which included a short stop at Berchtesgaden for a coffee break, in addition to the Salt Mine tour which was interesting (but the English audio guide was rather minimal in terms of explanation). The guide had a good sense of humour and kept us entertained. But the price was a little steep for half a day.

I booked this excursion for my boyfriends birthday, as we were spending a long weekend in salzburg. I didn't know what to expect, but it went above and beyond our expectations. My boyfriend absolutely loved it and our tour guide Walter was super friendly and amusing. Thankyou for a memorable trip.

The driver was very knowledgeable. The salt mine was fun and interesting. The kids really enjoyed the mine slides and sampling the salt brine. However I don't feel like the excursion was worth the price. I would recommend driving up on your own and pay at the salt mines.
