Start your journey 6:00 AM with pickup from your hotel in Bentota. Meet your chauffeur guide who will escort you to your air-conditioned vehicle, before proceeding to Nuwara Eliya where you will check-in at the hotel. After resting up at the hotel after the drive, visit a tea factory and take a guided tour through the estate to learn more about the varieties, processing methods, and qualities of tea. Here you will see how the world-famous “Ceylon Tea” is manufactured.
Afterwards, return to the town of Nuwara Eliya. Explore the premium holiday resort town of the British, which was especially popular during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Wander through the streets with their pretty little cottages, quaint villas, and beautiful mansions. See the old red-bricked post-office, with the option of purchasing an inexpensive and colorful postcard to take home or send to your friends. After discovering the town, relax at Queen Victoria Park or on the nearby shores of Lake Gregory. Return to the hotel and rest for the night to complete the first day of the excursion.
On the second day, rise early in the morning to travel to Horton Plains National Park in Ohiya for a hike. Explore its montane grasslands and cloud forests. Enjoy the majestic views from the precipice of World's End and the cooling water sprays from Baker's Falls. Catch glimpses of the many endemic faunae that make their home in the plains. Get to know more about the archaeological finds that were discovered in the area.
Upon completion of the hike, return to the hotel, relax, check out, and proceed back to your hotel in Bentota. Travel time will take approximately 6 hours.
