  Take the short journey to the northern suburbs of Paris, and arrive at the incredible Basilique Saint-Denis. Built on the grave of Saint-Denis, the royal abbey was the burial place of 43 kings, 32 queens, and 10 servants to the monarchy. The basilica was raised to the rank of cathedral in 1966. Discover the largest collection of funerary sculpture from the 12th to the 16th-centuries contained within the basilica's walls. Admire stunning examples of Gothic art and architecture as you stroll through the inside and outside of the building. Find out how the architect's emphasis on the importance of light, a symbol of divinity, was revolutionary at its time. See the last resting place of the Kings of France and its unique collection of 70 sculpted tombs.

  This cathedral was gorgeous and the burial sculptures of France’s kings, queens and other royalty were beautiful. What should be mentioned though is how sketchy this neighborhood is. It really was the worst neighborhood I’ve been in throughout all of Paris. Thankfully the cathedral is only a few minutes from the metro exit.

  2. Legendary Stade de France: Behind the Scenes Tour

  Tour France's largest stadium on this unique 90-minute tour. Sit in a spectator's seat and take in the incredible panorama. Apart from sporting events, the stadium also hosts international shows. The Rolling Stones were the first group to perform at the Stade de France. International stars such as Madonna and ACDC also chose this venue for their concerts, witnessed by 80,000 spectators each time.   Was a complete visit. Good guide. But uncomprehendingly the shop was disappointing. We had to go near to Tour Eiffel to buy the official T-Shirt in the official Magazine FFF 87 boulevard de Grenelle.

  3. Necropolis of Kings and Queens: Basilica of St. Denis Tour

  Hear about the Catholic legend of St. Denis, the first bishop of Paris, who was decapitated. Holding his head under his arm, he gave a sermon while walking to the site where the basilica was to be built some 900 years later. Saint Louis selected this site for his family’s tombs, and the basilica now contains a collection of intricately sculpted sarcophagi. Explore the official necropolis of the French Monarchy on this 2.5-hour guided tour. In all there are tombs of 43 kings and 32 queens, from the 7th-century King Dagobert through Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. A guided visit of the site takes you through much of the history of Paris itself.

  The guide, Marion, is great, very knoweldgeable and passionate... Good at explaining... She really makes herself available in order to make sure you understand every single aspect of what she's saying. What more for a guide ?... Bottomline, this was an excellent visit specially for those who want to know more about a recap of all the Kings & Queens of France, via the story of St Denis Basilica.
