Leaving Lambert Estate, travel to Mengler Hill Lookout for sweeping views over the valley. Disembark at the Barossa Valley Chocolate Company your final stop for the day. Enjoy the change of scenery as you make your way into the vineyards of South Australia’s premium wine district.  Your first stop is at the multi-award-winning Jacobs Creek Visitor Centre, where you'll have the opportunity to sample their famous wines in a structured tasting, be taken on a tour of the surrounding vines and cellar door, and then enjoy morning tea as you overlook the vineyards. Leaving Jacob’s Creek Visitor Centre, visit Mengler Hill Lookout for sweeping views over the valley, and then it's onto Lambert Estate in Angaston for wine tastings and a 2-course lunch. Leaving the Barossa, stop at the Herbig Family Tree at Springton. This hollow tree trunk provided a home for Friedrich & Caroline Herbig and two of their 16 children until 1860. Travel to the picturesque Adelaide Hills and visit Beerenberg Farm Shop where you'll enjoy a stop to purchase their entire range of products in the Farm Shop, which also includes a selection of souvenirs and gifts. On this unique 30-minute small-group activity you’ll be hosted by a wine educator who will tell you about the history of the Centennial Cellar and its wines dating back to 1878. See 140 years of wine in barrels and taste directly from the barrel from the year of your birth. Seppeltsfield Winery’s founder, Joseph Seppelt and his eldest son, Benno, were renowned for their long-term vision for the estate, closely following custodianship principles to ensure a legacy that would be passed on to future generations. Evidence of this can be seen in Benno Seppelt’s Centennial Cellar, which is an unparalleled system of maturing single barrels of vintage tawny for 100 years before release. In 1866, plans to build a new bluestone cellar were undertaken by Joseph Seppelt. In 1878, following the passing of his father, Benno completed the stone cellars and gave instructions that wine from an 1878 barrel was not to be bottled for 100 years. This single barrel of 1878 tawny port remained, maturing in a separate room within the bluestone cellars for 100 years. The tradition of laying down a barrel of the finest wine from each vintage has continued every year since that time. The Centennial Cellar now comprises an unbroken lineage of every vintage from the current year back to 1878, and is a living museum of Australian winemaking history.

Take part in a craft gin making experience at the exclusive Barossa Gin School. Each of the work stations has a hand-made Italian copper still, ready to be the foundation upon which you will create your recipe. Working with a clean base spirit, allow yourself to be guided through the process of making a craft gin from scratch.  You'll be utilizing some of the most popular botanicals used in gin making today, as well as some not-so-well-known treasures. You’ll learn about the techniques employed to craft gin.  There will be plenty of different botanicals to play with and select from, so there’s ample room to get creative. By the time you’re finished selecting, measuring and recording your recipe, with guidance from the team if required, you’ll be ready to lift the lid on the still. You’ll sit down to a 3-course meal at The Eatery while the stills heat through and work their magic, mixing together all the flavours you’ve chosen. Once the stills release their freshly-crafted gin you can put the finishing touches to your labels. Once bottled, the only thing left to do to your creations is affix the label and add a wax seal if desired. At the end of the activity you’ll take home your very own personal gin, handcrafted and hand-bottled by you.
