Full description
Take a guided tour of La Sagrada Familia cathedral with an expert guide, and marvel at Barcelona’s most iconic landmark in the soft light of the morning. On this tour you’ll admire the artwork of Gaudi. Striking for its architectural features and art, the Sagrada Familia is legendary. It was the all-consuming obsession of the modernist architect, Antoni Gaudi. His work on the building began in 1882 and remains unfinished. During the tour your guide will point out the contrasting nativity and passion façades. You’ll also learn about the symbolism and representations of the Holy Family as an expression of Christian ideology, constructed in stone. Note the Christian iconography as you hear about the history of the church. See the angled pillars sprouting like a web of tree branches, holding up the roof. Below the ground is the Museu Gaudi, where you’ll find documentation about Gaudi’s life and work. There is also a crypt where masses are held, and a viewing platform above the burial site of the architect.

This is a the highlight of Barcelona. The tour was well organised by Amigos Tours and easy to meet & sync up with. It took us some waiting at the entrance due to security check and rush at the venue, but that’s ok. The Catherdal is amazing and we took the tower access as well (try it if you are physically ok to walk down the spiral stairs ) What we would like to give as a feedback is that after doing a guided tour (via GYG) at Giralda Catherdral in Sevilla , if we now compare, the Sagrada Bascilla was not covered as extensively from the legacy, the parts of cathedral etc .

The destination was beyond amazing, access to the exterior and interior great. We had a tower tour and loved that. I would give it a ten however our guide diminished the experience. Lovely person, heavy accent and she had a cold/respiratory symptoms and her voice would weaken, could not understand the entire tour. Others talked to her half way through and she thought it was the microphone but it was her voice. I would rather have self toured with a audio box. The destination was amazing, not the tour

I think a better explanation of the black madonna would have been appreciated. It was to quick of an over view since that is a large part of the history of the monastery. Also that it has no reference to African heritage and that it turned dark in color over the centuries and was painted black. Originally called the tan madonna. The guide also talked a bit too fast, many run on sentences. Other than that it was fine but could have been more informative in general.
