Full description

Discover the history and beauty of Catalonia on a day trip to Girona and the Costa Brava from Barcelona. Get on board an air-conditioned van with your guide and enjoy the scenic drive. Visit the fishing town of Calella de Palafrugell and relax by the coast or take a dip in the sea. Depart Barcelona in the morning and head to Girona, a well-established city with a fascinating history. Explore its streets, and admire its rich architecture. See the cathedral, established in 1038 on the site of a former Mosque.

Visit historical museums such as the Jewish Call and the Arab Bathhouse. Stroll around the colorful streets of the old town or sit down to have a cup of coffee and watch people walk by. Then, continue to the fairytale-like city of Pals, a small medieval village that came about from what was once a fortress. From Pals, head to the fishing village of Calella de Palafrugell, a beach village with whitewashed houses that ramble all the way down to the seafront.

Enjoy a delicious lunch at one of the traditional restaurants (at your expense), and spend the afternoon exploring the rocky coastline, visiting the botanic gardens at Cap Roig, or taking a refreshing dip in the inviting waters of the Mediterranean.

This was such a fun way to spend a day outside of Barcelona. I learned so much about the history of each place, and Costa Brava was absolutely beautiful. I made friends with other solo travelers on the trip and we split some paella for lunch while overlooking the beach. Judith is an AMAZING and very patient tour guide. She spent time with each of us on the ride back to Barcelona giving us personalized recommendations for the rest of our stays in the city. Highly recommend this experience!

We really liked this trip - our guide, Roger, was excellent, very informative. We had a little over two hours at the monastery, which was enough for a guided tour, the cathedral and the art museum. We only saw the madonna from far away - didn't know you had to reserve tickets for that ahead of time and there was a long line. Took the cable car down to meet the bus and then went to lunch. The lunch was plentiful and tasty and we had a nice chat with our group over wine. The groups are small, we had maybe a dozen people. Would recommend this tour!

We had a great trip to Girona, Pals, and Costa Brava! The air conditoned van was so comfortable. Our guide Arnau was amazing! Very helpful and knowledgeable. We wish we could do even more in Girona, but we got to see so many places in one day so it was great.
