From collection and introduction in the market, Yves quickly put is at ease and as we explored the market he filled us with knowledge about the ingredients and provided what initially felt like an overwhelming range of menu ideas to cook. As we understood more about seasonality and flavour combinations he guided us to select both an interesting and achievable menu whilst learning some new skills. Yves drove us back to his lovely home, with the amazing views of the city from the roof terrace. His love of food and natural teaching style soon had us preparing squid, making a Catalan dessert and even making home made mayonnaise. Hints and tips, and a lovely Spanish white wine, were generously shared and once complete we carried the fruits of our labours up to the roof terrace where we were able to savour them whilst enjoying the views. Definitely recommended, Yves is an excellent tutor and skilfully communicates his love of Catalan food whilst sharing his beautiful home.
We really enjoyed the tour of the market and interacting with the vendors. Josh was very passionate about Spanish cooking and shared his knowledge with much enthusiasm. He was so accommodating with our food preferences and the completed tapas and sangria were delicious! We will definitely call Josh next time we are in Barcelona.
Cooking with Yves was a highlight of our trip to Barcelona. Picking out favorite foods with Yves in the Boqueria market and cooking in his kitchen was so informative and fun. Yves kept us all busy in the kitchen and my 10 year old daughter loved it. Wonderful meal and SO fun! Thank you Yves!
The market was fantastic and the chef was great company. He took time to show our kids (12 and 9) how to prepare the foods. Great music, great instructor, and great atmosphere. We VERY highly recommend this experience
We went as a family and both kids and adults enjoyed themselves. It was great to be shown round the market. We all had a range of jobs to do in the cooking and learnt new dishes and then shared a really nice meal.
