Bangkok: Canal Tour by Longtail Boat

1. Bangkok: Canal Tour by Longtail Boat

Enjoy a long tail boat journey in Bangkok. Meet your guide at River City Shopping mall and visit the old city of Thonburi, an independent province until it was merged with Bangkok in 1971. Experience the local way of living, rarely seen from the other side of town. Historically, the Thai capital Bangkok was crisscrossed by klongs (canals), and gained the nickname "Venice of the East". Klongs were used for transportation and for floating markets, but also for sewage disposal. Today, most of the khlongs of Bangkok have been filled in, although the Thonburi side of Bangkok (covering areas west of Chao Phraya River) still retains several of its larger khlongs.

Bangkok: Floating Market, Orchid Farm & Giant Buddha Temple

3. Bangkok: Floating Market, Orchid Farm & Giant Buddha Temple

Khlong Lat Mayom floating market is arguably the most interesting tourist attraction located in Bangkok's large canal. The floating market is part of the city's canal system. Thai foods, fruits, vegetables, fish, snacks, and desserts are among the items available. The fact that the majority of the stalls are located on the ghat and you can walk along the wooden planks is fascinating. Our professional guide will take you on a boat to get Beyond Tourist Zones for the most enjoyable sightseeing at Khlong Lat Mayom, orchid farm, the artist house and the famous giant buddha status at Wat Paknam. You will take a few bites at each location, as well as experience the city's squalid suburbs outside the tourist zone. This will allow you to see a real waterfront community in action. Sit back and let our guide take you through multiple locations and docked boats to visit different interesting locations to enjoy the delicious savory authentic foodies.

Alive/Alisa was my tour guide and she was excellent! We got to experience many forms of transportation here in Bangkok such as the sky train, tuk tuk, and boat thru the river and canals of chao phraya! We were able to visit all the famous temples and spent adequate time at each one! We got many memorable pics. She took us a the navy club restaurant where I absolutely loved every dish we ordered! Highly recommend this tour experience!

It was very nice experience to see Bangkok from different perspective. Our guide was very sweet and told us a lot about everything we have seen around us. We had been dropped off at Wat Arun and enjoyed it a lot as well. Definitely go for this tour, it is worth it.

Fun afternoon adventure if you don’t mind getting wet and seeing (from a safe distance) the odd river snake or giant lizard. All the Bigcountry staff and guides were tremendous - taking su timer service to the next level

Great tour with Julie who told us all about life on the canals, and in Bangkok. We even got to see a few water monitor lizards!

Great guide, fascinating journey through canals, good value.
