Full description

Make your way around Bangkok by cycling along on a guided tour. Travel through lesser-known parts of the Thai capital and dive into its green lung to escape the hustle and bustle of the busy city. Cross the river on a long-tail boat and enjoy a delicious typical meal.

Meet at the activity provider's office and admire the views from the Chao Praya riverbanks before catching the ferry. Once at the other side of the river, find yourself in the Bangkrachao sub-district, also known as the "Green Lung of Bangkok”.

Cycle on elevated pathways through lush vegetation and in the shade of coconut palms and banana trees. Stop at a local Buddhist temple: Wat Bang Krasop. If time and the principal allow, pay a short visit to the elementary school next to the temple to say hello to the children.

Continue the bicycle ride deeper into the jungle and reach a Muay Thai boxing gym. Learn about the national sport and perhaps take a short lesson from the master. A tip to the master is not mandatory, but common and very much appreciated.

Ride across a market and the beautiful Srinakonkhenkan park, and make another stop at Ganesh, a Hindu god, where the guide will tell you how this God was adopted by the Thai Buddhists.

Take a break at a local restaurant to enjoy a typical Thai meal, such as Pad Thai or Kao Pad with shrimp, crab, pork, chicken, or vegetables. After your meal, return to the pier and take the ferry back to the hustle and bustle of Bangkok again.

Jimmy was our guide and soooooo lovely. He met us at the meeting point which is in the middle of nowhere. It’s an office block area so taxis were confused. It cost us 135 baht for a journey from chinatown area. The ride was a little scary whilst in bangkok as u go down some barrow pavements or on the road. The paths in Bangkachao are also very narrow so i would suggest this is suitable if ur group (inc children) are confident riders. The tour round bangkachao is stunning but wear mosquito spray if prone to bites. The food was sticky mango rice (half my group really enjoyed but this wasn’t for me). We shared two dishes between 5 ppl but more was offered if wanted. I have marked this 4/5 as i don’t recall a briefing on safety measures should anyone get disconnected from the group and there wasn’t much talking along the route. Jimmy was lovely but being a single parent i struggled on the route. The route was beautiful though and took you through areas you might not walk. x

Super relaxing, everything is well organized- you just just need to enjoy the ride and the beautiful colours of Bangkok. Guide was very knowledgeable and polite. Plenty of water throughout the tour for free and many things to see I've never seen in my +25 years I'm visiting Bangkok. I will book it again.

Great tour! If you feel less than confident about riding down narrow, raises paths (concrete path several feet above the water), you might be a little nervous at times. Most of these paths had railings on one side. The visit to the Muay Thai camp was a lot of fun. Definitely recommend! The bikes are cruisers so good, padded seats for a long bike ride. The path is not strenuous.
