Full description
Head out to discover the delicious flavors of authentic Thai street food as you taste 9 different dishes during the tour. Explore different neighborhoods and admire both architecture and street art along the way. Visit the riverside Klong San Market and take some time to tour the many stalls in the bazaar. Start your tour at 9 am by the Saphan Taksin Station. From there, head to a fresh market where you’ll sample roasted duck with rice at a famous local restaurant more than 100 years old. Walking along Charoenkrung Road, try beloved street food like Thai milk tea, mataba (stuffed pancakes), Thai BBQ snacks, fresh fruit, papaya salad, and sticky rice. After stuffing yourself with delicious Thai goodies, explore the nearby side streets, weaving in between hidden Buddhist temples and small local communities. Admire some colorful Bangkok street art along the way. Board a ferry across the river to visit Klong San Market. This riverside bazaar, more popular with the locals than with foreigners, is a great place to roam and explore. Browse the stalls looking for souvenirs, take photos of the colorful produce, or if you’ve still got some room, sample even more local eats per your guide’s recommendation. After spending an hour at the Klong San Market, head back across the river and stop at a beautiful Catholic church, strolling through the old colonial neighborhood before trying yen ta fo. The latter is also known as pink noodle soup for the pinkish tinge the sauce lends the white noodles. You’ll end the tour at the Si Phraya Express Boat Pier, where you can snap postcard-perfect photos of the cityscape from across the river.

Enjoyed going through alleys to discover and try authentic Thai street food. Something as simple as Thai coffee tasted extraordinary from a small vendor by the road side. Our guide Tony was very accommodating and we learned a lot of food tips from him. For the art part of the tour, Tony brought us to an alley filled with colourful street art and photographs. We would never have found the place on our own. This personalised tour is highly recommended. Be adventurous!!

Nina was a great guide. She took us in the back alleys, where people live and work, not just on the beaten path. There was a lot of very beautiful street art and we saw a number of spectacular temples. We went into one where the monks chanted for us. At our tastings, and at other points along the way, she taught us the Thai name for the dish or snack. Everything we had was delicious. Unfortunately, a number of the places she had planned to take us were closed because it was the day before the Chinese new year. We could not go inside the Catholic Church, and several of the food stands were not open. Nina does know where to take the tour group, so we do recommend her. However, we suggest that in the future Get your Guide should not book tours on a holiday. That there were so many closures should not have been a surprise.
