From here, walk back outside into the sunshine and meet your trusty horse. Using a step, climb onto your horse under the direction of your guide, and learn some basic horseback riding techniques. Follow your guide along the tranquil Bow River and past the historic Cave and Basin Hot springs - the original birthplace of Banff National Park. This area is home to wildlife in amongst the thick marshes and grassy meadows. Enjoy unspoiled views of the magnificent Rocky Mountains along the way. From the start the staff and experience was great. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. They really like for you to be early because of checking in. They pair you up with and have you get acquainted with your horse. Everything was explained and made clear. The riders that took us on the ride were knowledgeable and told us when was a good time to bring out the cameras. Well worth the amount paid.

Very friendly staff and a nice ride. Awesome views of Bow River on the way back on the 1-hour ride. Well-trained horses and very organized services. The only thing that could have been improved was to have smaller groups or a third guide in the middle of the group (or headsets for all riders which I assume would be unlikely as it would be costly) since it was extremely difficult to hear what the guides were saying. It seemed like they have interesting facts to share with the group and some helpful tips, but we could barely make out what either guide was saying and had to piece together some of the info mentioned from each. It would also have been nice to stop and take a picture at the best Bow River opening; however, I could also see that being an issue as groups may block a lot of the trail and it may be disruptive to the timeliness and flow of the ride. Overall, really great experience but it would have been significantly better if we could have heard what the guides were saying!!

The experience was great except the mosquitos were way worse than expected. I wore long pants and put big spray on but I encourage anyone who goes to put even more bug spray on and maybe wear jeans instead of leggings. It was hard to enjoy the horseback ride as I was constantly swatting at the mosquitos on my legs. Aside from the mosquitos it was a nice and easy horseback ride. I wouldn’t say you need more than 1 hour. You’re mostly in the bushes too so I felt we really didn’t see much of the bow river or beautiful views. Only at the end did we really see the mountains and the river. Guides were super nice and had fun facts though!
