From Bali: Swim with Manta Rays in Nusa Penida

1. From Bali: Swim with Manta Rays in Nusa Penida

Head for the island of Nusa Penida and embark on a snorkeling adventure. Take advantage of 3 different stops to swim with Manta Rays, enjoy lunch on the beach, then spend the afternoon exploring the mangrove forest. Benefit from pick-up at your hotel in selected areas of Bali or wait directly at the ferry office (depending on the option selected), and then journey to Nusa Penida, located 20 kilometers off the southeast coast. The largest of Bali's 3 sister islands (Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Penida, and Nusa Ceningan), Nusa Penida is much less developed and remains home to abundant and pristine nature. Marvel at the dramatic landscape and steep cliffs along the coast as you make your way to some of the island's best snorkel sites. Upon arrival at the protected bay of Manta Bay, discover an ocean rich with plankton that attracts beautiful reef manta rays that can sometimes measure up to an impressive 4 or 5 meters in wing span. Go to 3 of the best snorkel sites on the island, including popular spots (depending on conditions) such as Crystal Bay, Toyapakeh, and Gamat Bay. As the strong swells of the Indian Ocean can impact conditions, the situation will be carefully monitored to take you to where it is safe to swim with the rays less than 1.5 meters from the surface of the sea. If conditions are not suitable, your snorkeling itinerary will be adjusted accordingly, as your safety is always the number one priority. Following your magical snorkeling adventure, break for a delicious beachside lunch at Paradise Beach on Nusa Lembongan. The lunch is served as an Indonesian food buffet. Then, get the chance to explore the mangrove forest in the afternoon by kayak, stand-up paddle board, or private gondola.

Would recommend to anyone traveling to Indonesia. Very much worth it. Booked for two people and the boat was perfect for us. The boat crew was always attentive and giving us delicious snacks, juices, and food. Sometimes too much food, which is not too bad problem of a problem to have. There was a place to sit in a shaded area and a place to recline under the warm sun. The water and hikes were pristine. After sweating in a hike, we were able to take a dip in the cool water. We were able to see Komodo dragons, bats, birds, deers, and many colorful fish. We were not lucky to see the mantas, but that’s ok, the snorkeling was still amazing. The hotel was nice and big with a nice view of the beach. Clean but beware of mosquitos, which was the case for the whole tour. Remember to bring your mosquito repellent. Overall great experience. Our guide went this us everywhere we went and was also very attentive and gave us great history and information.

One of our best Bali days. The zoo itself is a nice place to visit but spending time with the elephants was amazing! We fed them, washed them, took a mud bath with them and bathed in the river with them. The elephant keepers were wonderful and made sure we got the best out of the experience. Including lots of photos on your own phone in case you don’t want to buy the official ones. The elephants are happy at the zoo, saved from human predators and treated with love and great respect. The money we paid included lunch and afternoon tea as-well as transport to and from the zoo. All in all it was a great day.

The trip was amazing. The tour guide, Gusti was his name, made us feel secured and cared for the entire trip. He managed to get the best spots for a photo and made us feel cared for during the boat ride as well as the trip on Nusa penida as well. Also our driver, shutri, helped out as a photographer. Even on the scariest of roads he drive safely and swiftly. An amazing experience well worth the price!

Wonderful private tour in the north of Bali, I arrived early at the waterfall so there were basically no tourists, I could even bathe in the waterfall ! Thanks again to my guide Made Sudiartha, always giving me explanations on Balinese culture and recommending me good places.
