Full description
Embark on an exciting and unforgettable midnight hike up Ijen Volcano leaving from Bali and trust that this 24-hour adventure is worth the time. Begin your trek in pitch-black darkness and reach the crater in time to see the world's largest blue flame area, rising up to 16 ft. Hike back down as the sun rises and take in panoramic views of the magnificent natural surroundings.  The trip begins with pickup from your hotel and then a 4-hour drive to Gilimanuk Port, where the ferry for Java departs. Arrive at Ketapang, and go out for dinner to get energy for the hike. After your meal, set off for Mount Ijen’s blue fire, and arrive an hour and a half later at the base of the mountain. By midnight, the trek to the summit will start. The trek up will take around two hours. At the first stop, enjoy a spectacular view of the night sky and a photographer will teach you how to take photos of the stars. Head down to the Ijen Crater, which will take another 40 minutes. After a rocky path down to the bottom of the crater, see from a distance the mesmerizing electric blue fire from the volcano’s lava. Going back to the crater’s rim, be greeted by the breathtaking view of the sunrise overlooking the surrounding scenery. The trek will end at a local warung to eat breakfast before returning to Bali and your hotel.

They complied with everything advertised and more, including dinner and lunch that indicated that it was not included, on the other hand, curiously enough, breakfast that did indicate that they did not put it, but the change favored us. Good driver and fantastic guide. The only thing that would improve was the car, perhaps too small for such a long journey. I really only recommend this tour to those who find it impossible to spend the night in Java, it's a killer, 19 hours without sleep at night, with more than 10 hours by car is insane. And remember that seeing it is not guaranteed.

We (couple, mid-30s) decided on the tour after much deliberation - and we didn't regret it. Gusti, our driver, was on time, spoke English well and accompanied us quickly but safely and explained a lot to us. He put a lot of effort into it, which put our minds at ease. Our guide, Andi, was a former sulfur worker with a lot of experience. He was very considerate with our group (4 people), helpful on the descent, had gas masks for us, spoke good English and was happy to take photos for us. The ascent to the summit was a walkable, steep path. We took regular breaks. The descent to the crater was very rocky, you need surefootedness, here the tourists channel themselves a bit. We saw sulfur workers at work. Below we were rewarded with great motifs. Contrary to expectations, there was only one "flowing" blue fire spot, which we were allowed to examine and photograph from close range. Conclusion: the tour has enriched our vacation.

great experience, you should really see it. We were picked up from the hotel in Ubud at 7pm. our driver Gusti was on time, then we drove almost 6 hours including the ferry to the Ijen. Gusti is a great driver who speaks very good English and was able to tell us a lot about Bali on the way. Arrived there was a coffee and we waited for our guide until the pass up to the Ijen was opened. at 2 o'clock it started. Our guide also spoke English very well and, although it took me a long time for the ascent, planned everything very well in terms of time. so we could still see the blue flames at night and then climbed back out of the crater at sunrise. The sulfur burns in the eyes and scratches in the lungs despite the mask. Our guide prepared us very well here and also guided and calmed us down very well in the critical situations.
