Full description
The tour begins with pickup from selected Bali locations and heads to the stunning Tanah Lot Temple, located about 20 km north of Densapar. Upon arrival, admire the imposing rock formation that the temple sits upon, which has been shaped over the years by the crashing waves beneath it. Tanah Lot is one of 7 ocean temples in Bali and has been a center of mythology for centuries. This Hindu temple, which is dedicated to the Gods of the sea and dates back to the 16th century, holds much significance for locals but is now just as well loves by visitors to the island. Spend some time exploring the temple, as well as its dramatic surroundings, and learn about the rich history of Tanah Lot and the religious beliefs surrounding it. There’s also time to wander around the many local market stalls that surround the temple, offering handmade trinkets, Balinese instruments, textiles and more. After a spot of shopping, head back to the temple, which boasts incredible sunset views thanks to its Southwesterly location. Find the perfect place to relax and admire the skies change color against the backdrop of the ocean, with Tanah Lot standing proudly at the forefront. Once the sun has set, hop back on the bus for the return journey to your accommodation.

Agus was a fantastic tour guide, he was very kind and knowledgable. We had plenty of time so we were able to stop off at a coffee plantation on the way (delicious!) We were lucky and the the tide was out so we could get a blessing at the temple and touch the sacred snakes. Unfortunately there was a heavy rain cloud on the day we visited but the views were still amazing and we saw a little sunset!

We visited the Tanah Lot at sunset yesterday. It was a nice trip, but more of a 'standard tourist program'. But it has to be said that our guide told us a lot about Bali, the people and the culture on the drive from the hotel to the temple and also took great care of us on site - he also did a great job as a photographer :-) We can recommend the trip!

Overall a really lovely evening although not what I expected. I thought we would actually be given a tour of the temple but it was just the transport really, although our driver was lovely. I was on my own with another couple and we just split off and did our own thing. Even though it’s the rainy season I still managed to see the sunset which was beautiful. Overall worth it as taxis would have been more expensive. My only issue is that the driver was half an hour late due to traffic, which I figured but there was no communication so I was sat there thinking maybe I’d been forgotten!
