Full description
Join a full-day yoga retreat in the beautiful landscapes northeast of Ubud. Visit a holy water temple and with guidance choose to take part in a traditional cleansing ritual with holy water. Take part in a guided healing yoga and meditation practice at a secluded villa. Enjoy free time at the villa to lounge, relax, and eat lunch. After an early pickup, head to Mengening Holy Water Temple, Pura Mengening, located in the village of Saraseda, Gianyar Regency. The temple is sacred as a place of melukat, a ritual in which locals perform self-cleaning or ablution with holy water. It’s also a site where the Balinese request tirtha – the holy water used for Hindu ceremonies. These springs have been derived from natural sources since the 11th century, and the pools’ bathing waters are cool and clear. Before going in, receive guidance on how to act in the ritual, especially how to present the canang sari flower offering with incense. The bathing rite is said to be both a physically and spiritually rejuvenating yet meditative experience. After, travel to Tepi Sawah Villa. Enjoy your delicious lunch with both vegan and vegetarian options here as well as some free time to lounge, take a swim in the pool, or explore the grounds.  Later, take part in a Bali healing yoga and meditation practice with Jero Priestess Luh Manis, who will guide you through a spiritual experience that reconnects with nature and the universal energy.

An amazing day with an amazing yoga instructor. Patoo was responding to all our questions about the culture, explained the ritual of water purification in the nicest way and joined us in all activities. She was also very friendly and always asking if we find anything challenging so she’d help. The yoga session was amazing.

Overall, amazing trip. Our tour guide Gede Egon was great, very knowledgeable, friendly, and funny. Preparation and communication was easy. The water ritual was great, lunch was delicious, and yoga was my favorite part. Putu was great to relax at the resort and lunch with. 5 stars, all around great experience.

Our driver Agung picked us up on time at the agreed place. He was very helpful and very friendly. With his dignified and calm charisma, he was like the setting for a wonderfully designed event. At the meeting point we got to know Sari, who helped us to put on the Balinese costume and explained everything to us and got us in the mood for the ritual. A beautiful ceremony followed at the water temple. Thank you very much, dear Sari. Then there was lunch at the Sankara Resort, a very well-kept property. After a short relaxation at the infinity pool, we had a wonderful yoga session with a sari, which was wonderfully suited to our level. All in all, a highly recommended event if you want to do something good for yourself.
