From Calvi: Agriate Guided Jeep Tour to Lotu and Saleccia

6. From Calvi: Agriate Guided Jeep Tour to Lotu and Saleccia

Time stops and immersion in "the attic of Corsica"! As rich in history as in vegetation, we set off to discover an extraordinary site combining maquis and beaches worthy of the Caribbean... The Agriates desert is a micro-region that is desert only in name! Planted with Mediterranean vegetation that is traditionally found in the maquis, such as holm oaks, olive trees or even heather and myrtles. The 13km of 4x4 track will offer us the possibility of admiring extraordinary points of view, of discovering the history of the site with the many mullers (pagliaghji) - small stone constructions with roofs covered with earth - which mark out the territory and which are the witnesses of intense past agro-pastoral activities, but also to meet the wild fauna populating the desert (cows, warblers, grass snakes, peregrine falcons etc…) At the arrival of the track, stop on the beaches of Lotu and Saleccia (protected natural areas), land of the Conservatoire de l'espace littoral, real paradises on earth... or rather maritime! Fine white sand beaches, clear turquoise waters, sea bream, cuttlefish and other “inhabitants”… get your masks and snorkels on!! For those who wish, it is possible to go for a "short" hike on part of the customs path between the beaches of Lotu and Saleccia. (1h15 on average).

Absolutely to do once, the tour with the motorboat is comfortable because it allows you to arrive at your destination in a shorter time, to also have a greater view of those beautiful landscapes. Our skipper also made us have fun with some adrenaline-pumping maneuvers, we made a stop of 3.5 at the D'Arone beach, which is spectacular, we had time to eat calmly at the L'onda beach restaurant, very good. It is time to take a long bath and then back in the saddle after then he took us for a short half hour swim in another beach. Absolutely I must say it was worth it, full day and made me very happy and grateful.

I had a wonderful day touring cillages in the mountains overlooking Calvi. Our driver was kind and considerate and a very careful driver. It was also fun to share the experience with a small group of 6 people. I felt safe in the van with the windows open and fresh air blowing through. The information provided provided was also excellent, including, apart from hisptry, information about Corsican plants, bees and other agriculture.

The guide Capucine was really nice and her colleague Damien too. A real pleasure to share this moment with them. The journey itself is rather calm, there is little off-roading. Several stops allow you to punctuate the journey and take photos. The stop in the natural swimming pool is magnificent! We highly recommend

Incredible trip! Enriching from a cultural point of view and magnificent between sea and mountains, the landscapes are breathtaking!! The stop in the waterfalls and natural rivers amazed us! Swimming was fun! A huge plus for Damien!! An awesome guide! Thanks to him !!!

very good off road driver. Comfortable 4x4 car. Driver was also a guide and gave a tour more personal touch.
