Trekking the Gokyo Valley is considered by many to offer the Everest Region at its best. It provides outstanding views of the sky over tall mountain peaks, along with the Ngozumpa glacier, the largest glacier in the Nepalese Himalayas. This 15-day tour is a rare combination that offers the opportunity to trek in the marvelous spectacle of the Everest Region and also explore the culture and lifestyle of the rugged and weathered people from the Sherpa community. It provides an unusually good opportunity to travel through some of the most enticing landscapes the Himalayas has to offer as you, taking your through the Khumbu Himal to the Gokyo Valley and its high pass. Itinerary Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM). Transfer to hotel in Kathmandu (1,345 meters). Overnight stay at hotel. The guide will be there to meet you upon arrival at Kathmandu airport (KTM) for your transfer. Day 2: Guided sightseeing around Kathmandu Valley and trek preparation. Overnight stay at hotel. Day 3: Flight to Lukla (2,840 meters). 3-hour trek to Phakding (2,610 meters). Walking 4 hours. Overnight stay at a tea house. The flight is very scenic and takes around 35 minutes through breathtaking green hills and white mountains. Day 4: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440 meters). Walking 6 hours. Overnight stay at a teahouse. Day 5: Namche Bazaar acclimatization day. Excursion 3 hours. Overnight stay at a teahouse. The journey to the highest mountain in the world is a long one with extremes of altitude. It is necessary to minimize the risk of the effects of high altitude later on your journey. This will be our first scheduled acclimatization day. Day 6: Trek to Dole (3,680 meters). Walking 4 hours. Overnight stay at a teahouse. Start the day with a steep climb leaving Namche behind up to Kyangjuma village where there are outstanding views of Thamserku, Katanga, and Ama Dablam. Day 7: Trek to Machhermo (4,470 meters). Walking 5 hours. Overnight stay at a teahouse. Climb steadily up to a scenic ridge above Dole and continue upwards via Lhabarma at 4,220m to Luza at 4,360m. The path is steep and you need to negotiate some thorny bushes up to Lhabarma. From here there are good views of Cho Oyu, Kantega, and Thamserku. Day 8: 5.5-hour trek to Gokyo (4,790 meters). Walking 5 hours. Overnight stay at a teahouse. Start with a climb up to a ridge at Chorten from where there is a fabulous view of both down the valley to Mt. Kangtega, Thamserku, and up to Cho Oyu. Pass through three lakes to reach the Gokyo village. Day 9: 5-hour trek to Gokyo Ri (5,360 meters) and then back to Gokyo. Overnight stay at a teahouse. Day 10: Trek to Dole (4,200 meters). Walking 6 hours. Overnight stay at a teahouse. Day 11: Trek to Namche Bazaar via Khumjung village (3,780 meters). Walking 4 hours. Overnight stay at a teahouse. Day 12: Trek to Lukla (2,840 meters). Walking 4 hours. Overnight stay at a teahouse. Day 13: 35-minute flight back to Kathmandu. Walking 4 hours. Overnight stay at a teahouse. Day 14: Leisure day in Kathmandu. Day 15: Transfer to Kathmandu airport (KTM) for your final flight departure.

2. Kathmandu: 16-Day Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek

A trek to the base camps of Kanchanjunga is a remarkable and memorable journey with fantastic high mountain vistas. Translated into English, Kanchenjunga means "clear crystal". This 16-day trek centers around the Arun River, where the culture of the local people is as diverse and colorful as the nature. Sherpa and Gurung communities are predominant in the northern part of the region, whilst Rai, Limbu, Magar, Tamang, Brahman, and Chhetri dominate the south. Extremely rich in natural beauty, the Kanchanjunga Conservation Area provides habitat to numerous wild animals, birds, exotic plants orchids, rhododendrons lilies, and primula. The region also serves as a habitat to the elusive snow leopard, Himalayan black bear, musk deer, and red panda. Bird life discovered in this region includes Impheyan, pheasant, red-billed blue magpies, and shy drongo. The trek is fairly strenuous, meaning participants must be fit, but the rewards are well worth the effort. If you are looking for something out of the way and off the beaten trails which is rich in flora and fauna with tremendous views, this may well be the trek for you.

3. Nepal: Rural Glamping Trek with Panoramic Views

This off-the-grid trek will take you 3365 meters above sea level through picturesque rural regions of Nepal. You'll see stunning views while experiencing the local culture and camping in this less-visited part of the country. You'll meet your trek leader and be transferred to your hotel when you get to Kathmandu. After a night of rest and breakfast, you'll drive out to your starting point and to get ready for your trek the following day. After a hike up to 2800 meters, you'll get a chance to catch your breath and admire the view from your campsite above a Sherpa village. Spend the next few days hiking through the majestic Himalayas for about 5 or 6 hours each day. On day 6, you'll be taking on a steep ascent for 3-4 hours to reach the highest point of the trek at 3300 meters. Experience the most spectacular panoramic views of the trek over the next few days as you explore this out-the-way area. By day 10 you'll be flying back to Kathmandu to rest up and check out your amazing photos. Top off your Nepal trip with a walking tour of Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), a UNESCO World Heritage site.
