We very much enjoyed a two and a half hour Segway trip with the lovely Carla, who was happy, chatty and full of little snippets of information. The Segway ride itself was easy and very pleasant, taking us the whole way around Heidelberg and its surrounds, as well as visiting the Wolf’s Fountain, the Castle and the cobbled Old Town, giving us a good insight into the town in a relatively short amount of time. The thing that made our Segway trip extra special was that the whole of Europe was engulfed in a heatwave, including Heidelberg, however we managed to glide effortlessly and elegantly around the whole city without breaking a sweat! We would recommend this trip to anyone.

  • Segway Tour of Heidelberg

    7. Segway Tour of Heidelberg

Have you always wanted to try out a completely revolutionary and utterly out-of-the-ordinary method of travel? Then join this Segway tour of Heidelberg! It will take you along the river Neckar, through orchards and vineyards, with a beautiful view of the Odenwald. Enjoy the purity of nature – without the effort of cycling, or the noise of a car motor. Starting on the Neckarmünzplatz, you will ride straight through the vineyards up to the mediaeval Strahlenburg Castle in Schriesheim. From there, enjoy dreamy views of the entire Rheinebene, the flat plain, surrounded by hills, where the Neckar meets the Rhine. The tour will then take you in a circle on other pretty routes through this beautiful landscape back to your starting point.

Fun tour of Heidelberg. Segways in good shape. Tour guide was nice and made sure we all felt safe and comfortable. The downside was that we didn’t stop very often. This means we past interesting sites without getting to know about them. It seemed like the tour was about covering the most km rather then about the city. If you are looking just to ride a Segway, then this is for you. If you want to also learn about the city, should look elsewhere.
