Visit the Church of São José, the Convent of Nossa Senhora da Esperança, Saint Sebastian Church, and the Church of the Jesuit College, all on this guided trip in Ponta Delgada. Learn about the cultural and religious significance of the sacred sites you visit.  After pickup, start at São José Church, located in Campo de São Francisco, right in the historic center of the city of Ponta Delgada. Under the invocation of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, the church dates back to the 16th century.  Next, stop at the Convent of Nossa Senhora da Esperança, where you´ll find the Sanctuary of Senhor Santo Cristo dos Milagres that’s of the highest devotion to the Azorean people and one of the most important treasures of sacred art in the country.  After a small walk, arrive at Saint Sebastian Church. Its construction dates back to a chapel under the invocation of São Sebastião, built after a great plague that devastated it. Make a final stop at Todos-os-Santos Church, the primitive Church of the Jesuit College.
