At the selected time, we will meet at Jardim José Agostinho, our (kiosque) to start our guided tour of approximately 3 hours through the capital city of Terceira. Will we take a walking route through the main attractions of this Azorean city, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco? From the kiosk (Jardim José Agostinho) we go up towards the entrance of the city, we will arrive at Alto das covas, then we go in the Duke of Bragança market, we visit the inside of Capitães Generais Palace, which was the former Jesuit college and today houses valuable works of art. We will continue our visit to go inside the Igreja da Misericórdia, which will welcome us with its striking white and blue façade. We will get to know the history of the Paços do Concelho building from the outside and, of course, we go inside the famous church of the Santíssimo Salvador da Sé, the cathedral of Angra do Heroísmo. Stop at a pastry shop where you will have 25 minutes of free time to have a coffee and taste a typical sweet. With our energies recharged, we'll follow the path to the Teatro Angrense, a 19th-century building that houses the island's theater groups and major representations nationwide. Finally, we will visit the Jardim Botanico (Duque da Terceira garden) where we ascend to Alto da Memoria (Memory of D. Pedro IV) A real spectacle.

3. From Ponta Delgada: Lakes and Sete Cidades Trip with Lunch

Explore a 3-hour linear trail around Sete Cidades. Begin your tour next to the grand Muro das Nove Janelas (Wall of the Nine Windows), a 760-meter stone aqueduct that is over 100 years old. Pass through a forest of Japanese cedars and ascend to the top of Pico da Cruz. Experience stunning panoramic views of the island’s north and south coasts in the foreground and Serra de Água de Pau in the background. Follow the route to the north crest of the blue lake while appreciating magnificent views of the Sete Cidades Lagoon and the Santiago Lagoon along the way. Discover the Lomba do Vasco viewpoint which offers a breath-taking view of the Sete Cidades caldera, a large volcanic crater. View the blue and green lakes and the Peninsula. Arrive at Seara House and head towards the center of the parish of Sete Cidades, where the route ends.

The first stop is in the green area of Praia Vitória, where people have picnics and spend family time. Continue to the empire of charity, the city center, and Matriz Church, before you visit the volcanic sand beach and learn a little about the history of the city. After, go up to the viewpoint of Facho and go through the path between green pastures and cows to the viewpoint of Humberto Delgado where you can observe a wonderful view over the mountain range and the American military base. Finally, return to the starting point at Praia Vitória.

We had a lovely time on this tour with our guide Manuela. She was an excellent guide and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing parts of the city we likely wouldn't have gotten to on our own. The market was especially nice to see as well as climbing the tour in the city centre which gave us a great view.
