Unfortunately we didn't get to see any whales on the day that we went out, they simply weren't making themselves available. However, we did see hundreds of dolphins. Seeing dolphins out in their natural habitat is just incredible, it took a bit of time to find them on the day that we were out, but it was well worth the wait. The captain of the boat could not have worked harder to find them out in the open ocean, the whole trip was very professional from start to finish. I would definitely go out again in the hope of finding whales next time.
We booked the afternoon tour for the 27th Feb and turned out to be very lucky as we quickly saw lots of common dolphins. The crew were all excellent at sharing valuable and interesting information. All of which was presented in a good humorous style. They encouraged questions about their research and ocean and mammals. We then were incredibly lucky to see a Brydes whale for a good period of time. Highly recommend this tour, the time passed very quickly and we were very well looked after
We did end up seeing pygmy blue whales and a bryde’s whale, along with several dolphins, and even penguins! The crew was extremely well-informed and informative. They took two samples of phytoplankton and zooplankton, and explained their environmental importance. It was an altogether engaging and memorable experience.
An amazing experience. The captain managed to get us see both dolphins and a whale, despite the bad visibility ar that time. This is a research boat and the money you spend are used for helping the marine ecosystem of the area. The crew makes sure that tour time is invested in learning things. Highly recommended!!
Experienced informative crew. Saw plenty of dolphins in their natural element at close quarters. No whales as e were told really wrong time of year so no 5 star. Wear sun hats, sun cream and watch out for the wash from bows when they dig in. Listen and learn from the crew.
