Meet your instructor at the Ferry Ticket Office in the Devonport Ferry Terminal. Sign in, store any bags you want to leave behind and have a helmet fitted. If you haven't ridden before do some training on various terrains which will have you confident to start the tour. Ride around the Devonport waterfront to admire the Victorian villas, lava flows, the local Yacht club and the inner-city beaches on the way to exploring the North Head Reserve. Begin the tour by riding along the waterfront and the grassy slopes to practice riding over different terrain. Enjoy some free riding time in a local park before venturing through the back streets to Cambria Reserve. Cambria Reserve is the location of an old quarry now planted out to make the perfect park. At times, see trees full of the native bird, the Tui, enjoying nectar from the trees. Stop at points of interest to learn the history and local anecdotes from the tour guide.  After exploring Cambria Reserve, glide on a Segway to the summit of Mount Victoria/Takarunga, the highest volcanic cone on Auckland's North Shore. Enjoy 360-degree views of Auckland City and the Hauraki Gulf from the summit. Before European settlement, this volcanic cone was a Maori Pa Site, a fortified village where the Maori made their home. Our guide Grand was very knowledgeable and friendly. We throughly enjoy the trip, he try to keep us entertain and informed on history of New Zealand during the long ride to the Hobitton, it was very interesting knowledge. Hobbiton was very beautiful and not to be missed for Lord of ring fans. The scenery was amazing and we took a long of pictures. The second trip to waitomo was interesting as well but felt that it is a bit short. The trip ended with a short boat ride through a dark cave and we can see the glowworm in the ceiling of the cave.

I went with my mum & partner to Hobbiton & Waitomo. We had Michael for our tour & he was so generous & full of knowledge about everything & anything. Also such a great conversationalist . Highly recommend, would love to be on another tour with him. Thank you for a great day out!
