Amalfi & Atrani: 2-Hour Private Walking Tour

1. Amalfi & Atrani: 2-Hour Private Walking Tour

Let yourself be enchanted by a 2-hour guided tour starting from the historic center of Amalfi to Atrani experiencing the colors, the typical tastes and the millenary history of the Amalfi Coast. Amalfi was the capital of an ancient maritime republic. Its historic center is justly considered an outdoor museum and preserves, almost intact, the architectural and urban drug of its past. Towers, walls, vaulted houses, ancient churches, chapels and convents, testify, with its rich medieval mercantile houses of the aristocracy, the historical past of Amalfi.  Come to the 'so-called' piazzetta right in the center of Atrani from where you can admire a beautiful view. Start in the Flavio Gioia Square, with the statue in marble of the inventor of the compass. View the Arsenale and visit the big and graceful historic center with an overwhelmingly beautiful St. Andrew's Cathedral (or Duomo) in the Arab-Sicilian style dedicated to Saint Andrew, the apostle and a patron saint of Amalfi whose relics are kept here. Visit the Fountain of Sant'Andrea with marble sculptures of Saint Andrea and marine gods carved in the 18th century. View the narrow medieval alleys densely sorrounded by souvenir shops and limoncello. Walk up to the characteristic Atrani. Stop for a panoramic view at the cemetery of the ancient monastery of San Lorenzo. Arrive to Piazza Atrani and visit Chiesa di San Salvatore de’ Birecto. End your visit with a 5 minute walk to return on foot downtown to Amalfi.

Amalfi: Private Walking Tour Above Amalfi Coast Villages

2. Amalfi: Private Walking Tour Above Amalfi Coast Villages

Starting in the medieval village of Scala, walk to a high point of the Valley of the Mills. Afterwards, descend along a scenic trail to Pontone village, where the second part of the walk will begin. Set off to discover the small villages of Amalfi, Atrani, and Ravello, following a professional guide to discover the ancient secrets and spectacular views along the Amalfi Coast. Visit the small medieval village of Pontone, where the path will take you out on rocks overlooking the sea to reach the Torre dello Ziro, with the best panoramic views in the area. Here you will also have the opportunity to climb inside the ancient medieval tower to experience the thrill of how the local people used to climb it a thousand years ago. The walking tour ends in Pontone or, if you prefer, it could also end in Amalfi or Atrani center.
