What people are saying about Atlas Mountains
This was an excellent tour, I would highly recommend it! The day started with meeting our guide Marouan, who picked us up at our hotel and we drove toward local sites and stopped off at picturesque scenery. We then went to a traditional store where we could purchase items if we wanted. There was no pressure to do so. Afterwards there was a beautiful drive through the valleys to the mountains. The mountain trek was great. The mountain guide Jamal was informative and helpful. The trek requires good trainers with decent grip. The walk is aprox 20 minutes assent and 20 minutes desent. We then made our way for lunch with the traditional family. The food was beautiful and they catered for me as a vegan. The total tour was about 8 hours. There is enough time to rest and take photos. Our main guide Marouan was lovely, he was knowledgeable and made our day great! This tour was the highlight of our trip!
My friend and I took this trip to Ouzoud Falls with driver Abdou and local guide Yousef. This was a lovely day trip: Abdou picked us up near our riad on time and clearly communicated the planned stops (incl. rest stops), and it was a pleasant journey to the falls. Once there, Yousef gave us lots of information about the area and the Berber people who live there, and patiently guided us down to the falls (it had been raining so the trail was a bit slippery). All in all, a lovely trip to the beautiful falls, and a tour I'd recommend!
We booked the private tour because we were coming off a week-long group trip. We appreciated being able to set our own pace with the local guide. Travel time from Marrakech was close to 2.5 hours, though we might have lucked out with minimal traffic on a Sunday. Make sure to have your reservation information handy - the local guide was unaware we'd booked an option with the boat tour, and had to call for confirmation that we had already paid for it.
What an experience! A beautiful place where to spend a day in Marocco! Especially with our guide Nourreddine, the best you can have!
Omar the tour guide was amazing, so helpful and informative. Had a lovely day out. Would highly recommend.
