Hydra

(90-minute visit)

The first port of call is Hydra, a small but beautiful island steeped in history and a popular destination that’s not far from the Greek mainland. Its cobblestone streets, where donkeys are the primary mode of transportation, are lined with mansions and centuries-old churches. The town of Hydra was built on imposing rocky slopes and has remained intact and unspoiled by modern development. Local residents maintain the unique legacy handed down to them by previous generations. Swim in the crystal-clear waters, sunbathe, enjoy the Greek cuisine and hospitality, and search for some souvenirs to help you remember your visit.

Poros

(50-minute visit)

Poros is an island of peace, romance, and relaxation. The island’s pine trees line the rugged shores and the sandy beaches. Approaching Poros by sea you’ll see the historical clock tower atop the island’s highest hill. The beach houses are mostly neoclassical in style, with the first built in 1463 in the area around the clock tower. Explore the town center and the Archaeological Museum.

Lining the narrow streets of Poros you’ll also come across shops, cafés, taverns, and many bars playing both Greek and foreign music.

Aegina

(2-hour visit)

Aegina is the land of the legendary Achilles. Visit the Temple of Aphaea, situated atop a pine-covered hill in the northeastern part of the island. This was the prototype for the Parthenon. When the skies are clear, you can see the Temple of Poseidon at Sounion and the Acropolis of Athens from this spot. With the Temple of Aphaea, these temples form an isosceles triangle, which was the holy triangle of ancient times. See the church of Saint Nectarios, which houses a silver urn with the relics of St. Nectarios, the patron saint of the island.

Overall it’s good if you want to see 3 islands in one day. But if you want to go without a rush in the islands, i would reccomend to go with the ferry. Then you will be in the island as long as you want. Also it will be way cheaper and faster. Just you need to plan your journey more. Moreover the food in the cruise was eatable, but nothing special.

**please note that the meeting point and boat is wrong in Get Your Guide** the boat is The Cosmos departing from Εκβολή Κηφισού Ποταμού (Marina Delta Kalitheas). Made for a very stressful start to the day. *********** However, once on the boat, the day was great. It's all a bit pricey given the upfront costs, any extra food/drink/tours but what you get is a lovely day with some amazing sights and very friendly staff all round. I would definitely recommend to anyone spending 4 or more days in Athens.

Very easy to book but VERY minimal information on the process. The directions on where to go and even the name of the boat were completely wrong on the ticket! We were told to arrive at the port by the Anna Maru boat before 7.30. Got there at 7am where another couple were waiting. It wasnt until 7.25 we finally saw some one on the boat and waved them over. He spoke no english, nor did another person we found. Luckily we were told by a passer by we had to be on THE OTHERSIDE of the marina! Ran over. Got taken on the correct boat (The Cosmos) The lovely boat and beautiful islands make up for it. It is a long day- take a book or ipad for the journey back. left at 8am get back at 7.30 close to main city and cheap in a UBER. Definitely better off ordering a uber/ other car app service on the way home. The taxi drivers at the port quite intrusive.
