Full description

Discover the ruins of the city of Mycenae on a day trip from Athens. Explore the archeological site, home to the Lionesses Gate, and the tomb of King Agamemnon. Afterwards, make a short stop in the village of Epidaurus and see its Hellenic theatre.

Drive along the scenic coastal road of the Saronic Gulf, and arrive at the archeological site of Mycenae. Explore the historical setting for much of ancient Greek literature, including the works of the poet Homer.

Continue with a brief stop in Nauplia, the first capital of modern Greece and home to the fortress of Palamidi.

After enjoying a relaxing lunch, head to the nearby village of Epidaurus, home to the World Heritage, is listed as an ancient theatre and is believed by ancient Greeks to be the birthplace of Apollo’s son Asklepios. The theatre at Epidaurus is perhaps the best-preserved theatre of ancient Greece.

Great opportunity to leave hustle and bustle of Athens. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and did an excellent job of providing details in both English and French. Bus was clean, comfortable, and the Wi-Fi worked great. I especially loved the seaside town of Napoli. Overall I would recommend this excursion.

we really enjoyed the trip, the theater is so interesting and Napflio is a great little town to eat and shop. We didn't do the lunch to allow time for exploring. The bus was air conditioned and wifi worked great, our driver and guide were also great, its worth spending a day out of Athens.

I had Vicki as the guide and I thought she was great. I think we had ample time to see the sights except for Nafplio. I would have loved just a little more time there. Hindsight, should have been dropped off there while those who paid for their lunches ate at the restaurant. You could eat there ans have a bit more time to wander and get some good pictures of the fortress and maybe even climb the 900 or steps to the top. The bus will come back to pick you up after they finish eating. Vicki was full of information about the sites we were seeing. I'm happy I did this day trip.
