Full description

Spend 4 days exploring the ancient history of Athens on a guided trip with included hotel stays. Stay the first night in Olympia, after seeing Epidaurus and Mycenae. Visit the Oracle at UNESCO World Heritage Listed Delphi and climb up to the mountainous monasteries of Meteora for the sunset.

Day 1:

Get picked up from your accommodation in the morning and begin your adventure through the history of ancient Greece. Drive through the countryside of Attica, admiring the rolling hills and fields passing by your window.

Make your first stop at the Corinth Canal, separating the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland. Immerse yourself in the breathtaking views and take some photos, before continuing to the Ancient Theatre at the Asclepieion of Epidaurus.

Choose to grab a traditional lunch or just explore the streets in the coastal city of Nafplio, one of the most beautiful places in Greece.

Leave Nafplio for the archaeological site of Mycenae, known as the City of Agamemnon after the famous king of Homer’s Iliad. Explore the ancient town and see the Treasury of Atreus and the Lion Gate. Depart Mycenae for Olympia to spend the night in a hotel.

Day 2:

Wake up in the morning and head off to the Archaeological Site of Olympia to see where the original Olympic Games were held.

Cross over the Rion-Antirion Bridge, one of the world’s longest suspended bridges, to reach the peaceful town of Nafpaktos. Take a walk and admire the Venetian-inspired architecture, or find a local restaurant to indulge in a delicious lunch by the sea.

Set off from Nafpaktos for the journey to Delphi. Admire the picturesque scenery as you drive, before arriving at your hotel and checking in for the night.

Day 3:

Enjoy your breakfast knowing you are about to visit one of the most famous classical sites in the world.

After you’ve eaten drive to the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Archaeological Site of Delphi, nestled between the peaks of Mt. Parnassus. Climb up the slopes and discover the Temple of Apollo, standing in the footsteps of Alexander the Great who once received a prophecy here.

Make a short stop in the town of Arachova, a bustling ski resort in the winter months. Walk around the sloping streets and maybe have a coffee with views over the valley below. Leave Arachova and drive to Kalabaka, reaching your hotel in the vicinity of Meteora to watch the sunset.

Day 4:

Make the most of the final day of your trip, discovering the breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage Listed Meteora. Wonder in awe at these monk settlements built upon almost inaccessible peaks of stone.

Begin your drive back to Athens, stopping at Kamena Vourla and also the pass of Thermopylae where Leonidas and the Spartans famously made their stand against the Persian Empire. Finish your tour at your hotel back in Athens.
