Full description

You will depart together with your friendly archaeologist guide from the “Smart-Eco-Pickup” at Piraeus Metro Station. From here you can admire the Port of Piraeus; the chief sea-port of Athens since antiquity. It is the largest port in Greece, and one of the largest ports worldwide, and your archaeologist will tell you all the secret stories behind it. From here you will board a ferry, from where you will feel the sea breeze with a nice cup of coffee whilst taking amazing pictures of the seagulls and surrounding scenery. After 1 hour and 15 minutes, you will reach the traditional island of Aegina, the "island of artists". Here you will have about 3 hours to walk around through the picturesque alleys, the charming local shops, and restaurants, as well as the traditional fish market. Aegina is well known for the traditional pistachio nuts, and you will have the chance to taste these delicious products directly from the local producer. They are used in various sweets such as baklava, kataifi, sweet cakes, ice cream, butter, chocolates, and liqueur. The horse carriages in the picturesque squares of the island bring back retro memories of years gone by, and whilst there you can take the chance for a romantic ride around the “chora” (the capital of a Greek island). You can taste fresh homemade delicacies in a cozy tavern against the harbor, from a “balcony” above the sea. The hospitality at its highest level becomes one with the traditional appetizers, as you experience the welcome of the friendly islanders. After being enchanted by the island life and the majestic landscapes, you will complete this unique experience with a relaxing return by flying dolphin. You will head back to Athens, where you will return to your point of origin.

The whole experience was amazing! The tour was very well organized and followed in a timely manner. All the COVID protocols were followed at all times. Our tour guide Gary is an archeologist and she was willing and able to explain and answer all them questions for the group. Overall, it was a very relaxing day trip to Aegina were we visited the Temple of Apollo and museum, walked through the port and shops and had plenty of time to relax and eat at the beach! Highly recommended!

We had a great day with our guide Maria. she hadn't done many guided tours before, but she was a champ and handled it all very well. Agina was very interesting with its history and the city and Agistri was a beautiful little island. we spend most of the time there at the beach swimming and the went for a short walk to have a look at the place. if swimming isn't your thing, I would probably recommend renting a bike. During the entire trip Maria answered all our questions, or found an answer for us, and was ready with recommendations both for the trip and for places to see in Athens. 10/10 would go again!
