1. Kos: Island Tour to Asklepieion and Zia

Explore the attractive island of Kos and admire white sandy beaches, crystal-clear water and idyllic mountain villages. Start above the city of Kos and visit Asklepieion. It is reported that the origins of this former temple date back to around the 4th century BC. The former temple consists of three levels and was once the place for the foundation stone of modern medicine, because there Hippocrates wrote the oath of the same name, which has survived to this day. Drive on to the small village of Antimachia and see an old windmill and a traditional farmhouse. Continue through olive groves and unspoilt countryside to the Kefalos peninsula. Admire the island's most beautiful beaches and enjoy a Greek lunch (optional) in the picturesque Kamari Bay or take advantage of the opportunity for a short refreshment in the crystal clear sea. Another highlight of the eventful day is a visit to the typical mountain village of Zia with its old houses on the slope of the imposing Dikeos mountain. Stroll through the small alleys and get to know the tranquil way of life of the Greeks. Discover the numerous spice stands and taste the typical cinnamon water.

The guide is really great and we were very impressed with the stories and his knowledge. The stations were very good. The only thing that irritated us was that there was no stop for swimming in Kefalos. Maybe we misread the description. We only stopped here to take pictures of the view. We found it a pity that the break in the mountain village of Zia was only one hour. We would have liked to see more here. We really liked the other stations and intermediate stops such as beekeeping and the old mill.

Although the flow differed from the announced order, the changes made made sense. The additional stay in Kos town was pleasantly surprising. Even if one can assume that all fellow passengers were vaccinated, tested or recovered in times of Corona, the bus was quite full and not all holidaymakers adhered to the usual mask requirement. There is a need for action here.

The tour was beautiful, the guide, an older man, was very nice and could tell a lot about Greece and Kos and their history. The guide's German was also very good, but of course with an accent. The time between the stations was also perfectly fine, enough time to look at everything.

Highly recommended! The guide explained us the history of Kos in perfectly German and for lunch brought us to a tasteful local restaurant for small money, really appreciated. My family and me have enjoyed the tour very much!
