Amazing Asheville Scavenger Hunt Adventure

1. Amazing Asheville Scavenger Hunt Adventure

Looking for a way to turn Asheville into a giant game board?   Urban Adventure Quest has created an interactive scavenger hunt that combines the fun of the Amazing Race with a three-hour sightseeing tour of Asheville.  Guided from any smartphone, groups make their way among well-known and overlooked gems of the city, solving clues and completing challenges while learning local history. The adventure begins in the heart of the city and takes you to an amazing collection of outdoor art, historic parks, and monuments dedicated the city's famous citizens and historical events. The game route will show you some of the best sights of the city as well as its hidden gems, all while challenging your mind and capacity for fun.  The tour requires approximately 1 mile of walking.  Using a smartphone as “the guide” allows participants to start when they want and determine their own pace of play.  Stop to enjoy the art, do some people watching or grab a bite to eat… why not, it’s your schedule? Offered at a fixed price for a group vs. per person pricing, this city tour/game offers a great value to those on a budget. Points of interest during your Quest include Vance Memorial, Pack Square Park, Veteran's Memorial, Thomas Wolfe House, Asheville Community Theater and Pritchard Park.

We had a great time. However, due to construction, shrubs that have grown too big so we couldn’t see what we needed, and destruction of the map kiosk, it was hard to complete all the challenges. We will be looking for these games in other cities we travel though.

It was a good audio tour. It took some time to get the app and the tour downloaded while we are waiting to get started. It works pretty nifty along with Google Maps to sense where you are at and start the audio at the appropriate times.

See what you've been missing in Asheville.

We'd been to Asheville many times, but the Get Your Guide Scavenger Hunt showed us so many new, interesting aspects to the city that we would not otherwise ever see. A great way to expand your knowledge and appreciation of a city!

We loved this way of seeing the BRP. We will use this way on future trips to other parks.
