Full description
Start your 3-hour journey with a ride in a rickshaw (Jinrikisha), which used to be a common form of transportation in Edo era in Japan. This short ride will allow you to explore Asakusa from an interesting perspective, and help you feel a part of Japanese tradition. Once you finish your rickshaw ride, you will travel to one of the main landmarks in Asakusa, the Senso-ji temple. Whilst here you will explore Nakamise Street, a street that has a 300-year history and some of the finest street food around, some of which you will get to sample. As you travel toward Kappabashi, you will learn how the Asakusa area has been developed and become accustomed with some of its local traditions! After exploring the Senso-ji, you'll walk a few minutes towards Kappabashi, a long street full of mystery. Here, you'll find a huge range of Japanese kitchen tools and goods, and your guide will recommend shops based on your preferences! The Japanese kitchen knives on this street are of the highest quality in the world. If you're looking for a cool souvenir to take home, this is definitely the place to find it. To end your tour, you will get to eat Monjyayaki, a local favorite. This dish is made with seasoned flour, amongst many other ingredients. Stop to take a bite in Hoppy Street, located in the backstreets of Asakusa. Your guide will even give you a few pointers on how to cook this spectacular dish.
