Nuno was our guide! Excellent...! Our guide was excellent, personable, always remembered every question. He set up such a wonderful day, all we had to do was show up! As people who typically plan our own tours, it was so carefree to have someone organize such specific things and knew the area intimately.

  • Full-Day Dolphin Watching Tour from Lisbon

    2. Full-Day Dolphin Watching Tour from Lisbon

This full-day tour begins as you head south from Lisbon to Setúbal, a picturesque region best known for its fishing port. In Setúbal, board a fully restored salt galleon, or a modern catamaran (depending on weather and sea conditions), for a relaxing and enjoyable cruise in the Sado Estuary, where you’ll learn about the resident bottlenose dolphins and hopefully be able to observe wild dolphins in their natural environment. The duration of the cruise takes about 2 to 3 hours. See the natural reserve of Arrábida, take in the stunning views, and learn about the area’s history and gastronomy. See the Arrábida Convent and discover some important historical sites before returning to the old city center of Setúbal. Before returning to Lisbon, stop at a few sights in the Arrabida Mountain range, from where you can marvel at the natural reserve and get a land view of all the region.

Rod our very appreciated tour guide did an excellent job leading us throughout the day. • From Sesimbra: Arrábida Dolphin Watching Boat Tour

    3. From Sesimbra: Arrábida Dolphin Watching Boat Tour

Look for bottlenose dolphins in the Sado Estuary on a scenic cruise from Sesimbra. Board the boat at Sesimbra Recreational Port, and then cruise along the Sado River towards Arrábida National Park. Look for the resident bottlenose dolphins in their natural habitat, along with common dolphins and dwarf whales. Interact with the delightful creatures as they feed, socialize and frolic in the water. Benefit from the services of an expert guide who will enlighten you about the marine environment and biodiversity of the shore. Learn about the geology and get information about local points of archaeological importance. If the weather conditions allow, and there is interest among the participants, stop in a strategic and sheltered place to swim in the calm and crystal-clear waters.

Overall, we enjoyed the trip very much. The return trip close to the shore was very nice. The guide shared some interesting info with us during that time. It would have helped to have some signage or have the guide meet us as we wondered around quite before we found the tour. The boat did not have comfortable seating with only two small seats with backs and the rest of the people had to sit together on a big square seat with no backs. A more comfortable boat would have made the trip more enjoyable.

Had a great time. Our only complaint would be that the vehicle wasn't a mini van like we expected so it was a little tight.

Climb aboard an 8-passenger yacht for a full-day tour of the stunning Arrábida Natural Park south of Lisbon. Following pickup from your hotel, transfer to Arrábida in the Setubal Municipality, and marvel at wide-ranging views of the Atlantic Ocean and Sado Estuary. Alternatively, bring your own lunch and enjoy a picnic on the beach, or even onboard.

An incredible day out on a beautiful boat. Gil & his team collected us from our villa and took us to Sesimbra where we were onboarded. The boats equipped with 2 inflatable canoes and a paddle board which were great for exploring some of the beaches. We mored up at an island off the coast of the sea. Diving off the boat into the fresh clean Atlantic waters was a treat. We took a picnic along with us. Gil was very professional and did a great job in ensuring we made the most of the day. Will be hiring this boat again for sure. Thanks Gil!

What people are saying about Arrabida Natural Park

The wine tasting was delightful. The first vineyard was set in some very picturesque countryside and maybe the more important element was that the wine was delicious. My partner and I bought some to take home to remember the trip. The reds we tried may have converted my partner to red wine. The whites were excellent and all of the wines were very reasonably priced. The stop off for lunch was in a postcard beachside town and the views going over the mountains were frankly amazing. Snapping a few pictures of my phone didn’t really do them justice. Whilst the wine at the second location wasn’t to our taste that’s not to say it was bad wine. The tour was really interesting and the gardens of the house a delight to walk through. Our tour guide was a lovely man, chatty, informative and really made the day more special. Would recommend this tour to all who say they’re going to Lisbon.

Nuno was our guide! Excellent...! Our guide was excellent, personable, always remembered every question. He set up such a wonderful day, all we had to do was show up!
