This tour was amazing and perfect for first time kayakers. It became a little tiring due to unexpected high winds, but I'd do it again. Our guide, Zach, was terrific and very patient and understanding as several of us went astray on multiple occasions. I didn't feel rushed or like a burden. He took time to allow us breaks to rest and take in the beautiful scenery. He also provided snacks and water at every stop. He took plenty of pictures of us to ensure we had the perfect backdrops and some good action photos. Just a heads up, the "cave" isn't very large at all but still worth the visit for beautiful pics with the breathtaking water color. Best time to go for perfect sunlight in the cove is approx between noon and 3 PM. Even if you miss the window, the experience itself is worth it. Riverdogz was the name of the company.

  • Las Vegas: Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend

Get away from the bright lights of Las Vegas, and journey into the great American Southwest. First, stop at Antelope Canyon and enjoy its colorful, intricate rock walls and formations, rainbow colors, and patterns. You'll explore the canyon with an experienced Navajo guide. Next, take in spectacular views at the Horseshoe Bend, a horseshoe-shaped incised meander of the Colorado River. After hiking 1.2 km on a sandy trail, take your time to admire the breathtaking views. Finally, stop at the world-famous Grand Canyon, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover its layered bands of red rock revealing millions of years of geological history. On the way back to Las Vegas, take a short break in Seligman, a small town along Route 66.

It was a good trip however I was a little disappointed in Horseshoe Bend. It is a long day so be prepared. I think the driving could have been less erratic and not so fast.

Our guide arrived promptly. He had us introduce ourselves to the other travellers. He explained what the days itinerary would be. Only a few of us took the train trip part. The train was slow enough to take in the sights, but, I would have preferred to have had more time in the Grand Canyon to be able to see the Imax theatre since this will probably a once in a life time trip.

  • From Las Vegas: Black Canyon Half-Day Kayak Tour

    10. From Las Vegas: Black Canyon Half-Day Kayak Tour

Following pick-up from your approved hotel on the Las Vegas Strip, escape the city and journey by comfortable Mercedes Sprinter to the start point of your kayak adventure into the Black Canyon. Arrive at Willow Beach and prepare for the day ahead as your guides help fit you into your kayaks. Paddle upstream into the narrow channels of the Black Canyon, and scour the banks to spot a variety of wildlife, including native Desert Big Horn Sheep and Bald Eagles. Continue for approximately 1 mile, and then stop at an historical overlook for awe-inspiring views of the legendary Colorado River. Listen to an explanation about the immense history of what the river has been used for over the past 100 years. Enjoy a complimentary snack before setting off for the stunning rock formation of Emerald Cave on your way back to the starting point.

Our first Kayak experience was educational and fun! For our 1st time (tandem kayak)the 3 hr. tour on the water was a great introduction on the Colorado river. Our guide was very knowledgeable and provided lots of information as we traveled to and from Willow Beach. We were picked up at a hotel in Las Vegas and it took about 30 minutes to arrive. Instructions were given for getting in/out of the kayak, paddling, and putting on/off your life jacket, plus other little tidbits on the kayak itself. Emerald Cave was much smaller than I expected (from the website pics) and to see the colors the westerly sun needs to hit the inside of the cave for all the colors. Overall I'm happy we had the adventure!

The tour guide Robert was fantastic! without him we wouldn't have known anything about what we were seeing.I felt bad for our guide at the end.We were suppose to be back at 2:00.one man kept us waiting for 50 minutes.we all thought after 30 minutes Robert should have left him.But he was very calm and said he couldn't.

Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area we drove through on our way and about the Grand Canyon. Highly recommend this tour if you are only able to spend a day at the Grand Canyon
