Embark on an adventurous full day tour and discover the pleasure of hiking in this area! Your morning will start with a pick-up from your hotel in Yerevan, in order to start the trekking experience. While driving to your starting point, Kari Lich, you will admire the green endless pastures on the way. On the journey, you will have a stop at a mystic place, where everything is against the laws of physics. The water here does not flow down but it goes upward. The vehicle drives up to the hill itself without its driver. It is unbelievable, however, this is the natural phenomenon  that you will witness. After, you will proceed on to Kari Lich, from where your hiking mission will start to the north summit. Different views will be unpacked in front of your eyes: from the green meadows and rocks to the boulders and ice spots. Your trek will include stops from time to time, in order to gain more energy by having snacks and a rest. By the afternoon, you will conquer the highest summit in Armenia and reward yourself with the powerful view from the top.  

This day trip itinerary is designed to give you a taste of some of the most beautiful and historic destinations in Armenia. Starting from Yerevan, you will first visit Sevan Lake, which is one of the largest freshwater lakes in the world and a popular tourist destination. In the morning, meeting your guide in the lobby of your hotel and start the adventurous camping tour. Head to the Western part of Gegharkunik Region to start the hiking mission to the highest point of The Geghama Range. First, discover the crater Lake Akna on the foot of the extinct volcano Azhdahak. Climb up the slopes and enjoy fragrant flowers and the beauty of virgin landscapes. Afterward, reach the summit of the mount and unveil the views of the biblical Mount Ararat, the valley of Kotayk, Lake Sevan and the whole Geghama mountain range. Later, descend to Vanki Lake and set up the tents for overnight. Along the way, explore the petroglyphs and dragon stones near the Lake, which date back from 2 B.C. to 1 B.C. In the evening, delicious meals, a friendly atmosphere, and a warm campfire will fill your evening with joy. In the morning, fresh alpine air wakes you before you descend the Mount to drive to the next location, the UNESCO heritage site Geghard Monastic complex. Later, head to the Pagan Temple of Garni, another ancient marvel surrounded by divine backgrounds. In the evening, the comfortable vehicle will transfer you back to the capital city.

After breakfast, we go to azati gorge, Kotayk Marz. We will start the route from the geghard monastery, which is considered an immovable monument of RA history and culture and part of the Unesco world heritage. On the way, we will visit a beautiful cave, which is located in a big rock. Looking at it, we will go down to a canyon where there are many caves. Enjoying the beauty of the gorge, we will continue the route to the symphony of stones and finish at the pagan temple of Garni (entry upon request). On the way, we will also have a stop at the Charents Arch, from where a beautiful view of Mount Ararat opens. We are going to Yerevan by car from Garni.

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in the morning in order to drive you comfortably to your hiking site, located about 2.5 hours from Yerevan in the Tavush region. The small village of Kirants itself is located near the border with Azerbaijan. The Kirants Forest however is situated inland, far from the steppe which already marks the border. Your hike will begin in the hamlet of Acharkut, located at the edge of the forest. You will move slowly along a fairly straight footpath which has very little altitude difference, and later you will stop in a heavenly spot to rest at the hike's halfway point. You will then continue trekking before reaching the highest point on your tour, the Monastery of Kirants. This monastery is perched on a hillside outcrop, and dates back to the 8th century. It was founded by Armenians, who adopted Chalcedonism. The monastery is composed of small bricks, and its architecture is sometimes reminiscent of classic Armenian character, yet sometimes represents different styles due to the materials used in its construction. After a break in the refreshing silence of this monastery, you will descend back down the hill. Your tour vehicle will then be waiting for you at your starting point to take you comfortably back to Yerevan.

Start the day by heading for the Southern Province Vayots Dzor, which is considered the ancient cradle of wine-making. For thousands of years, it has been an important center of viticulture in the region with authentic grape varieties that grow on its fertile soil. In the morning you will drive to the village Amaghu, from where you will start trekking to the architectural masterpiece Noravank Monastery, which is perched on the rocky outcrop. The everlasting impression of the stunning panorama is guaranteed here. Later, you will head to Areni Cave, where a 6000-year old shoe has been revealed together with wine vessels and other accessories which testify that Armenia is an ancient and authentic center of wine-making. After that, you will discover the secrets of pure wine-making and taste the authentic wine of Areni. At the end of the afternoon, you will be accompanied back to your hotel in Yerevan with a stop in Khor Virap Monastery where the flawless view of the Biblical Mount Ararat will be a real gift to our eyes.

Climb three hundred and fifty steps up to the swinging bridge, crossing over into the old town to find the caves and a hidden church. Make your next stop in Noravank Monastery and wonder in awe at the steep, brick-red cliffs that surround the holy site. Drive fifteen minutes to reach a winery in Areni, best known for its vineyards. Savor the tastes of Armenian wine, fruit wine, and brandy, before ending your trip in Yerevan.
