We very much enjoyed our trip and has a great time with our Guide Mana. He nailed the balance of letting us do our thing whilst also being helpful and informative. He had excellent English and we were easily able to enjoy his company and have interesting conversations. Key things to know: Lunch is not a thing. If you’d like to eat during the 9-11 hour tour, bring a pack up! Currently there is a need to use a 4x4 at your cost to get up the last bit - we were aware, so didn’t mind. But it was an extra 100GEL so may need to be factored in. Ladies seem to need skirts/wraps when entering monasteries and donations and toilet costs are common - so take some small change…Still well worth the money though :0)
Wonderful tour! Great ride out to the Caucasus Mtns in a comfortable SUV. Great panoramic views from ‘Friendship’ monument and Gergeti church. The tour offers additional add-ons like a horseback ride or hike to a waterfall. Great choices, but keep in mind to keep the tour length as advertised, other stops may be omitted. We took the horseback ride - adventurous - but did not do the Archangels monastery. We also selected a khinkali lunch but was not available at Rooms hotel on our visit, but alternate lunch (with wine) was delicious. 1 of our riders opted out of the horseback ride last minute and refund was provided accordingly.
Our driver and tour guide george is highly recommended. Our trip wouldnt be the same if not for george. He was a considerate driver to his passengers knowing that one of us usually uses the restroom so often. He loves his work so much that he knows the history of georgia by heart. This was indeed a memorable trip to us!
The tour was amazing and spectacular views with great people. The guides were hospitable and I loved it...
Great places, lovely tour and lovely people. We felt the hospitality of Georgians :)
