While everyone knows Venice, very few have heard of Giethoorn - a small village in Netherlands which has no roads. This pristine village is probably the closest backdrop to the fairy tales that we have often read/heard in our childhood. Apart from the picturesque location, we were also impressed by our tour guide Steven, who was very friendly and had a great sense of humor. We enjoyed his titbits about the area and the local culture (something that cannot be found on the internet). Overall, an amazing experience!

We were really impressed by Steven, our guide for this private Giethoorn tour! Nice drive from Amsterdam city to Giethoorn with Steven’s detailed introduction on the attractions. Boat trip was nice and relaxing, and it’s a wonderful way to explore this beautiful village. Lunch at a local cafe was another great point to mention. We got to experience yummy Dutch food and the Genievre! This day tour is Really worth it!

ガイド兼ドライバーのStevenさんには大変お世話になりました。時間通りにホテルでピックアップしていただき、全行程スムーズにかつフレキシブルに楽しむことができました。夕方近くまで曇り空で肌寒かったのが残念でしたが、それでもヒートホールンの冬景色の美しさを船や徒歩で感じることができました。その後に訪れた昔のハンザ同盟都市ハッセルトの静かな佇まいやカフェで食べたローカルフードのランチもおいしかったです。街の中心にあるプロテスタント教会に閉じ込められかけたことや、街の外れにある風車を訪ねて急な梯子をいくつも登って内部の最上階まで見せてもらえたのも、とても良い思い出になりました。移動中の車内では、色々な質問に答えていただき、オランダに関するガイドブックには載っていないことも色々と知ることができました。やはりこういった中味の濃い経験は、プライベートツアーでしかなかなか味わえないもの。少々料金はかかりますが、それだけの価値はあると思います。
