    1. From Nairobi: Day Trip to Amboseli National Park

You will be picked up from your Nairobi Hotel or the Airport around 5:00 AM before departing for the Amboseli National Park via the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway. Take the chance to enjoy the African sunrise as you head towards Amboseli. The morning drive is via African savanna country, which is dotted with local homesteads and colorful Masai herdsmen grazing their cattle. There will be a brief breakfast stop on the way. On arrival at the Amboseli, proceed for a game viewing drive in search of Elephants, Giraffes, Zebras, Lions, Cheetahs, Warthogs, Ostriches, and more. Mount Kilimanjaro dominates the skyline and surrounding country. Take in spectacular views of the mountain and make sure that you get some great photographs. It's the tallest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world. While Mount Kilimanjaro remains in the background, marvel at the wildlife and scen...

The trip to Amboseli was wonderful and the guide and driver Nathan from the local Safari Partner was great and knowledgeable. The game drive lasted three hours and I saw elephants (also up close), wildebeest, giraffes, zebras, lions, ostriches, flamingos, cape buffalo, fish eagles, impalas, baboons and a large hippo. All with the beautiful background of Mount Kilimanjaro. The trip started at 6 am when I was picked from the hotel in Westlands, and we started the game drive at 9am. The lunch was great at the Ol Tukai Lodge in Amboseli, with great scenery. The trip back started at 13:30 and arrived at 6pm in Nairobi, also due to ongoing construction works on the roads. Considering the low turnover of tourists due to the current situation, the safaris were not crowded and enjoyeable. Also the director of the local partner was very helpful sending useful information in a timely manner. GetYourGuide was great as always! I strongly recommend this safari in 2021.

I had a wonderful weekend safari with Tony from Perfect Wilderness Tours. The value for money was spot on. Once we arrived at AA Amboseli Lodge, lunch was provided, then time out before a late afternoon/early safari. So many elephants! The landscape is something else and to see many animals wandering was great. After dinner, the Masai men came in and performed a show explaining their dances and gave a little insight to their lives. Yes you are invited to 'look' at their crafts they bring in, but that's part of the charm, I didn't mind, they weren't pushy and you could barter well. An early start saw us at the park for 7am and we seriously drove non-stop for over 5hrs. Too many sights to mention, all amazing, but was lucky to see a mum and baby hippo out of the swamp. Sadly no lion sightings but get it can be like a needle in a haystack. I was solo on my tour and Tony was knowledgeable, accommodating with my questions and professional. Definitely recommend!

This is such a great tour if you have some time in Nairobi. If you're ever in Kenya, this is a must! We saw at least 50 elephants just in front of Mount Kilimanjaro. We visited in January, so everything was very green and in pristine condition. Our driver was Anthony Clove. He knew so much about the animals and told us everything we wanted to know about them. We (2 people) had the minibus to ourselves so it was something like a private safari. The food in the Ol Tukai Lodge was a big buffet and there was enough to make everyone happy :). We were very lucky to see Cheetahs on the hunt, a rock python on the hunt and a one day old baby hippo. We visited two National Parks in Kenya (Amboseli and Nairobi N.P) and it was definitely worth visiting them both! Just be aware if you have back problems or motion sickness, this may not be right for you as the streets can get very very bumpy. It seems like a very long day of driving but it's worth it (The view on the way is great)

Getting up early was absolutely not mine and the perceived very high price initially kept my expectations low, but I was convinced by the great driver, the park, Kilimanjaro and the dream lodge with perfect food / service! As a recommendation, I can say for others that an overnight stay in the lodge amidst the animals, i.e. the whole thing as a 2- or 3-day trip, will definitely increase again!

Long way for a day trip but we just loved everything!! Our guide Joe made his best and we could see quite few lions, hunting cheetahs!!! And giraffes, elephants...
